We get asked a lot about kit and what to wear so here's Dale's go to kit advice.

Neoprenes are great, these are thermal neoprene bottoms and top but a wetsuit works well. I don't like wetsuits as they can be restrictive but ideal for surf. Don't forget a cap for sun protection. Normally no booties unless the water is a bit dodge.

Technical t-shirt weather something quick drying with sun protection (you can burn through a t-shirt). Quick drying shorts and drop the booties.

Things are getting cooler, usually the kit is to prevent wind chill and dropping climate. I tend to layer up on the top half moisture wicking thermal t-shirts are great (long sleeve), and a paddle jacket to stop wind/rain. Bottom half thermal neoprene bottoms and over shorts. The booties are definitely back on due to water quality and temperature. You may wish to pop a drysuit on when it's really cold or split dry trousers/dry top combo. If it's really windy or drops cool then mitts are a great choice.

Now we are generally talking January/Feb and things are pretty cold. For me it's generally going to be drysuit season due to water temperature. Decision is usually dependent on location. If it's warm and unlikely to take a dip then can get away with Autumn gear. If it's cold like in the shot above it's definitely drysuit weather. Lots of layers under the suit that are moisture wicking and toasty warm like fleece. The open palm mitts are on to keep wind chill off the hands and a warm beanie. Keep the extremities warm hands, head and feet!

Note: It's not always as easy as going by the seasons but here's a rough idea of what I'll be wearing, I always make choice on current climate and temperature.

Great being able to test and review the @restube.official system whilst out of the country.

I really wanted something small and compact whilst away travelling with my board.

The Restube delivered. I'm super impressed with this system as an alternative to vest pfd, or inflatable over head systems. It's nice to choose what PFD you want to use depending on situations.

For me this was about the smallest back up possible so that I have some protection whilst out in case of the heat getting my board and being left floating in the sea especially as I planned to explore the more remote bays. by @standuppaddleuk

Here's my video hitting the water in Skiathos by Paddleboard.

Super easy flight in with the board and quick trip to the beach from our apartments.

Skiathos offers some beautiful weather and sights and better from the water. Can't wait to hear out again!

Also first time testing out the @restube.official on the water as an alternative to a vest style pfd ideal for travel. taken in Skiathos Island, Greece by @standuppaddleuk

After @supjunkie.uk showed me her @kitsack_uk had to get one for the @outdoormaster.official Shark 3 pump.

It's a perfect fit and we see lots of people with broken pumps as they just aren't looked after in bags and bounced around in boots etc.

Look after your kit highly recommend one of these mine was second hand off vinted for £8 but retail at £34.99. by @standuppaddleuk

Managed to sneak a bonus paddle in yesterday tagging along with a great group in London.

Thames sailing club to Richmond thoroughly enjoyable paddle and lots of excitement from rowing regattas, to back waters to the hustle and bustle of Richmond!

Absolutely brilliant morning on the water paddling with @samfoyle on the last leg of his incredible 230km Thames paddle.

You may have seen Sam paddling down the Thames this week all in the name of Leash awareness and raising money for great causes.

A 4am start in Chelsea was an incredible experience paddling to Westminster at sunrise one to remember and not one that many get the opportunity to do. It's extremely hard to get access. Massive thanks to everyone who made it happen behind the scenes and our safety and guides for the day from @active360sup and @ldnsportstrust for launch at Cremone Gardens.

Loaning my @oscarpropulsionsport paddle to @samfoyle as he finishes his route over the next 3 days from the source of the Thames to Westminster 👊🏻👊🏻

Had the pleasure of paddling 20km with Sam and others along some of the most beautiful parts of the Thames as he raises awareness of the dangers of leash entrapment and water safety and also money for The Simon Flynn Educational Foundation 🙏🏻🙏🏻 🔗 to donate in comments below 🙏🏻
