There’s a theory that the best travel moments aren’t the ones you plan for — they’re the ones that ambush you. Ours started at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, then a short boat ride later, we were swimming with actual pigs in actual crystal water 🐷🌊

Regatta Wrap 🌊⛵️

And that’s a wrap on the 70th National Family Island Regatta!

In the final race, Tida Wave finished in 5th position. Based on the points structure throughout the series, Tida Wave secured an impressive 🌟 2nd place 🌟 overall. 🙌🏆👏

An incredible showing for our Staniel Cay #16 sloop—strong sailing, steady teamwork, and a week full of character and grit. 💪💙 Tida Wave is performing well and put everyone on notice —she's baaaaack! 🤩

The awards ceremony drew a crowd, with the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and other officials presenting, plus live bands, local food stalls, and plenty of Regatta energy into the wee hours. 🎶

Before "dayclean" (dawn) the next morning, our towboat trawler hooked up Tida Wave and dinghy for the journey home. It was a beautiful, calm day for the ocean trek. By late afternoon, boats and sailors safely arrived Staniel Cay, and Tida Wave is home, resting back on her buoy. The sailors will now rest up, too! 🥱

Tida Wave is back in action—and looking good. 🌊⛵️ Livin’ like a local with @StanielCay.Life at the 70th National Family Island Regatta in George Town, Exuma this week!

After extreme winds canceled Wednesday’s Prime Minister’s Cup races, Thursday brought the makeup race, and Tida Wave #16 was off to a strong start.

She came off the line in second position (fleet of 9) and was sailing beautifully… until—oh no—she came to a standstill. The main sheet line had popped.

We pulled alongside in the chase boat as crew climbed out onto the boom in bouncing seas to make the repair. Impressive to watch. 💪

And just like that—she was back underway, as you see here. Too much time lost to place at the top yesterday, but she’s looking strong and we’re feeling optimistic for today.

FYI: The Cup race stands alone. The 3-race series begins today (with a double race scheduled) and determines the overall winner. Cup results only count if a series race can’t be completed.

Let’s go, Tida Wave #16! 🙌
