My first ICF World Champs Sprints Heat!

I'm just so happy to be here and having this opportunity to be around so many paddlers and be so inspired.

I came here to learn, have fun and also have some relax time!

Here's a break down of my sprint.

1. The buckets "gates" were nothing like I expected. In Nottingham they are bigger and easier. These were tiny... much harder to get your board nose in lol

2. The wind was from the left. Yes ok ok it wasn't crazy wind but enough for me as a sprint beginner newbie. I'm still yet to learn better methods of being able to continue to paddle on the left even when wind is hitting from that side (during sprint! I'm fine otherwise lol)...

3. Because of my lack of ability on the start to stay paddling on my left with the wind I switched to the right very soon after the start and I knew it was now game over lol

4. I wouldn't call this my sprint at all. I can sprint much much better but I guess I was overwhelmed by fluffing it up at the start.

But that's what's interesting and makes sprint exciting... the smallest of details makes a huge difference.

What I am proud of:
1. Turning up
2. Carrying on
3. Finishing!

Then I went to a restaurant over looking the sea and went and swam in the sea. Would love to paddle on sea here but can't walk my board that far lol

My 20th Canvey loop!
4th time with Dave Savage @sup_savage78

Wind was a bit more than expected. But mild compared to some of the times I've done it.

Wind against tide for first half and was hoping the wind would stay as it would be wind and tide together on way back! Instead wind disappeared (can't complain) and we had flat as a pancake glassy conditions for the return

Didn't treat it as a speed fest and even had a good break at Canvey road bridge but still had decent height water when I got back so even had a cool down paddle

Scotland is so beautiful at this time of year 🍂

Such a lovely weekend sharing time on the water with an amazing group of women as part of the annual Scottish Women’s Paddle Symposium.

Exploring Scotland’s coastlines and sea lochs, my Starboard Tourer was the ideal craft for the journey — stable, dependable and perfect for carrying everything I needed while we explored some truly stunning places.

What a superb weekend of racing at @sup.the.creek with exciting sprints and tech on Saturday followed by flatwater distance on Sunday.

We’re delighted with double distance race success, with Joe Jones @joeysup7 taking a strong win leading from start to finish and Alex Tyrer-Lomas @tyreralexandra powering her way to 2nd with the Lima paddle, both on the 14’x21.5” All Star proving this allround raceboard is very capable on still water as well as the ocean.

@gowiththeflopaddleboarding distance finish line thanks @vbagshaw1 - 4th? In women's hardboard despite being unwell recovering from a cold lol

Very excited for rest and a day off tomorrow (well not truly a day off as admin and packing for work!)

But here's what I've done:
- last Monday came home from sup 11
- Tues-Thurs travel for work
- Fri went Windermere GBSUP racing till sun night lol
- mon work
- Tues flew to Oslo for IAMX
- weds IAMX gig itself
- Thurs flew to Copenhagen then train to Malmo for IAMX
- Fri flew to Helsinki for IAMX
- sat flew home landed 5:30. Trains home got home 7:45pm then repacked headed to helens to stay
- today we raced at gowithflo
