EVERYONE SAY THANK YOU TO @orbitbooks_us for approving my request for Merciful Carnage on netgalley🙂‍↕️

By the time this book comes out, everyone is going to be sick of me because I WON’T STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. Sara Hashem, COME TO THE FRONT. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MOVE ON AFTER THAT ENDING? She got me from the very first sentence. The writing was so immersive, and the magic system? Insane (in the best way). I had to lock in for the first couple of chapters to wrap my head around it, but once I did? I was eating it up.

My girl Tala, the deathless healer who just wants to belong, has my whole heart, and don’t even get me started on her scorpions. I adore every single one of them and their different opinions and personalities, I NEED ME SOME SCORPIONS. And Selim, how i love a man who truly yearns, you’re telling me this immortal ruler, a man who hasnt felt any emotions in years, meets Tala and suddenly starts FEELING ALL SORTS OF THINGS for her (including annoyance 🤪). I’ll write a full review closer to the release date, but I needed to share a little collage and some memes in the meantime. You probably won’t understand half of them until you’ve read the book, but I had so much fun looking for them. Just know that Merciful Carnage is one of my top books of the year, and I need everyone to preorder it and request it on netgalley!

Currently reading: Twig’s Traveling Tomes by Gryffin Murphy

I was in need of a cozy book, and even though I’m just starting this one, I already love it! Louella is a witch who owns a traveling bookstore where her magic helps her choose the book that each person needs at that particular moment in their life. Isn’t that premise just perfect? I want a magic travelling bookstore too🙂‍↕️

🗣️ HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF THE YEAR 🗣️

The Court of Venus is the perfect romantic fantasy, inspired by Tudor England and featuring astrology magic. Bianca is the first Moonborn magician in over a thousand years, she was trained by one of the most powerful magicians, but now she lives a quiet life away from court. Suddenly, she is summoned to the castle to compete in a deadly magical tournament. The only problem? Bianca has to work with her childhood rival, Roland. They know something is wrong in Alvion, and with their powers combined, maybe they can uncover what’s really happening.

What I loved most about this story was how immersive it felt. The magic, the worldbuilding, the court and political intrigue, the tournaments, and the mystery were all woven together so beautifully. It has one of my favorite magic systems and worldbuilding I’ve read in a fantasy, and the plot twists had me SCREAMING. There was always something happening, but the story never felt overwhelming. Everything felt intentional and so carefully crafted.

And then there’s the romance 🤪: they’re childhood rivals, but once they start spending more time together, they realize that maybe they don’t hate each other at all. The slow burn and the yearning were DELICIOUS, and watching Roland fall so hard for Bianca was everything, I love them down.

What’s a book on your tbr that you’re excited but also scared to read? For me, it has to be Silver Dawn by Marie Lu. Please don’t hurt my babies 🗣️ but trust that I’ll be reading this soon, its one of my most anticipated book releases.

GUESS WHAT IM BACK TALKING ABOUT THIS BOOK BECAUSE ITS THE PERFECT FALL READ AND IT IS MY DUTY TO MAKE EVERYONE READ IT🗣️

Resharing my mini review: The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door is one of my favorite dark academia fantasy books and easily one of the most original stories I’ve read in a long time. I started it on a whim and found a new all-time favorite.

We follow Clover, a commoner with neither connections nor magical blood, who enters a secret magical academy after her brother becomes one of the few survivors of a devastating faerie attack that left its victims cursed. Determined to help him, she steps into a world not built for someone like her and soon finds herself entangled among the school’s magical elite, including Alden, the golden boy at the center of it all.

I don’t want to say too much because this is truly a book best enjoyed going in blind, but what I loved most is how expansive the story feels. Years pass, mistakes are made, relationships evolve and sometimes break, and you genuinely feel like you grow up alongside these characters.

l absolutely loved Clover’s character. Her love for books and relentless hunger for knowledge made me feel incredibly seen as a reader.

This is a deeply character-driven story with a fresh take on the fae, beautiful found family, and some of the most touching (and heartbreaking) platonic love l’ve read in a long time.
Books like this are why I love being a reader!!
