Chuck's ballistics testing never fails to entertain and educate. Here he's doing it live at Revolverfest 2026. He's using Chauncey's Smith 25-7, shooting home brew 45 Colt ammo. Details of the ammo? A cast 215gr lead hollow point over Winchester 231 generating a velocity around or a bit over 900fps. It had very interesting and excellent terminal performance. I enjoy being present when Chauncey's stuff gets tested. #revolverfest #americasfinestrevolvers #agileconsulting #statelineshootist #runyourgunnotyourmouth by @stateline_shootist
Chauncey and Lu at Revolverfest 2026 shooting Brent's King custom 2nd gen SAA in 44 special at 50 yards. It is such a sweet shooter. Brent put it in my hands and I rang an 8" steel at 50 the first shot! I love being part of an event where folks are so generous with their unique and interesting shootin' irons. #revolverfest #americasfinestrevolvers #colt #statelineshootist #runyourgunnotyourmouth by @stateline_shootist
Shot loads with the Pedersoli Kodiak Survivalist This little double has always struck me as a “game getter” type of gun. Very handy to have around and capable of taking all manner of game. Be it big hogs with full power magnum loads, rabbits for the table with light .44 Special level loads, and home rolled shot loads for pests and small game at short ranges. With a wide variety of loads available to the handloader and non handloader alike, the little .44 double is quite capable! by @stateline_shootist
Chauncey's long range handgunnin' block at Revolverfest 2026 was a smashing success. He had folks hitting small targets at distances of over 100 yards with just a little coaching. Every person I talked to raved about his class. He's not a character on social media... Chauncey is a legit modern day cowboy. I hope he'll return for next year. #revolverfest #americasfinestrevolvers #statelineshootist #runyourgunnotyourmouth by @stateline_shootist
It’s forty-four Friday! I was lucky enough to take a long range pistol class with @stateline_shootist at Revolver Fest. I took my 629 deer gun and learned a ton about positional shooting at longer distances. Chauncey was a class act and excellent instructor. #revolverfest #smithandwesson #wheelgun #revolverdegenerate #hunting by @stateline_shootist
Wheelgun Wednesday @buffalobillette and I took the long distance shooting class with our compadre @stateline_shootist . I used my 41 New Model Blackhawk, and she used her 6” Highway Patrolman. All ammo from @high.desert.cartridge . Learning took place. Fun happened. Rang steel at several distances. And we both hit cans in a shoot-off. ( @sauceinthewild took the prize in that contest). by @stateline_shootist
Holy cow y'all. This is a special pair of sixguns. The brass frame Ruger is the FIRST 41 magnum made by Ruger and presented by Bill Ruger to Elmer Keith. It is now in Chauncey's care and he absolutely uses it! I love it. The SAA is Bubba's Number 5. It was built on a 2nd gen 357 by John Powers and the stocks were made by Paul Persinger. Bubba shoots this thing! The first encounter I had with it last year he slapped it in my hands and INSISTED I shoot it. I'm blown away. Everyone had fun watching me taking photos of them. #revolverfest #elmerkeith #number5 #ruger #colt by @stateline_shootist
The can challenge at Revolverfest 2026 has a winner! Tyler, who displayed great skill won the can challenge for the event. He schwacked the can at what ended up being 56 yards (Chauncey has long legs) using his 1955 born Colt Agent. As a result he ended up with this incredible 2.5" Python! Let's congratulate him! #revolverfest #statelineshootist #colt by @stateline_shootist
In a recent interview with @stateline_shootist (or as I like to call him, "El Pistolero"), Chauncey told us about a huge feral hog that he had shot just that morning. This clip is from a recent interview that we just recorded for the Living Western Podcast, but keep an eye out for another interview with Chauncey that will be upcoming on a new series of videos on The Adventure Cowboy YouTube channel called "Adventure Cowboy Conversations". #feralhog #hunting #StatelineShootist #TheAdventureCowboy #LivingWestern by @stateline_shootist

Colt’s New Service .44 Russian On today’s installment of esoteric guns and cartridges, we have a 1906 production New Service chambered in .44 Russian. A good many of these were rechambered to the iconic .44 Special, but this one happily retains its original short .44 Russian chambers. The Russian is known for its accuracy and mild nature, and this one is no exception. With the Lyman 429383 home cast bullet sauntering along at a leisurely 730 FPS, this load essentially duplicates the original factory load and shoots quite well, and right to the sights. To the surprise of no one, I plan to carry and shoot this 120 year old sixgun extensively. The finish is a bit spotty, but it is mechanically excellent, and the bore couldn’t be better. She’ll make a fine rabbit gun. #Sixguns by @stateline_shootist
