My camera picked the WORST time to overheat 😅

Shooting 4K 60p for hours straight, overheating is normal — that’s why I always run my Ulanzi fan nonstop. But this day, I forgot it at home.

Right as we went for the final group shot, my camera shut completely off.

Had to stall, fake a take, wait for it to cool down… and finally got it. 🙌 This is the job lol.

CRUDO 🧠 Brain/Cerebro Dissection was everything and more!

We put on our lab coats, got our hands on real sheep brains, and turned @thehealthmuseum into the coolest anatomy class Houston’s ever seen.

Bilingual. Latin vibes. Real science. Real community.

Leading the lesson was Carmen Zavala, a sixth-year MD–PhD candidate at UTHealth Houston researching how the brain produces language and how technology can help restore speech after stroke.

Joining her was Dr. Angel Bueno, a physician and brain cancer researcher at UTHealth Houston studying new approaches to diagnosis and treatment.

Aprendimos, nos divertimos, y creamos comunidad, exactly what CRUDO is all about. by @staticframemedia

YACHAY: a Quechua word for knowledge which is passed down, not kept to yourself.

Whatever you learned this Hispanic Heritage Month: whether it was the many stories & experiences that make up the Latino community, the talent that's already here in Houston, or the gaps still waiting for someone to step forward and build what's next — don't keep the lessons.

Pass them on. That's the point of learning.

On September 19, we brought YACHAY to the Neuhaus Stage at the Alley Theatre in partnership with El Zócalo. Dr. Yoshua Esquenazi, Director of Neurosurgical Oncology at UTHealth Houston, walked the audience through the human brain. Dr. Lorissa Saiz, an evolutionary geneticist at the University of Houston and a SACNAS National Board Member, showed us that our ancestors were innovators long before it was a word.
Ashley Love and Valerie Villegas from the Alley got the entire house out of their seats. Sandra Rodríguez from Latinos for Education challenged us to think about what we build from here. And, our STEM Spelling Bee en español got competitive with Mexico 🇲🇽 y Colombia 🇨🇴 in the final round.

Hispanic Heritage Month ends on October 15.
The work doesn't.

Join the TECH23 community to stay in the know. Link in bio.
You'll hear what's next, and be among the first we invite to help shape future experiences, partnerships, and ideas. 🧠

¡Gracias Houston!

Proud to have partnered with Alvin ISD on coverage of their first Senior Citizen Skip Day.

Had the opportunity to sit down with Board President AJ Johnson and Vice President Danielle Swiney to talk about the event and what it means for the community they serve.

Grateful for the collaboration and looking forward to more work together.
