ATMOS Rewards people — more details on your choice for points earning and status points earning is now live as of October 1, 2026.

There’s even a Help Me Choose button which uses your travel history through August 31, 2026 and a Points Calculator to try out different scenarios for the 2027 status year.

Works on both desktop ATMOS site when logged in and on the mobile app. I hope this helps.

Alaska Air Group Investor Day was full-court press with upgrades: new lounges, new planes, new seats, new chefs, a new cabin class, and new ways to earn points and status.

I’m enthusiastic about their plans to evolve, and am particularly excited about Project Gotham: their Transcontinental ambition to connect New York City to the other coast with a new narrow-body lie-flat business class seat that faces the window, not the aisle (on the new @Boeing 737 MAX 10, coming in 2028)

Last Friday night in Paris, we witnessed a triumphant return to the stage. @brendabash’s first time in Paris (!) and first time seeing Céline Dion live, as we celebrated Mom’s upcoming birthday.

It was one of those once-in-a-lifetime nights… lots of “louvre,”tears, and air guitars. I got about 50% of the encore song lyrics down (last slide as we left before the masses).

Not that you can tell from this round-up, but I was actually off my phone/ IRL for most of the show. Some people video-d the entire time. I got a few snaps and vids that I thought would be worth sharing here.

If you’re going, I have tips about the bathroom situation and champagne vending set up…

Alaska just did what no global airline has ever done.

Starting October 1, you choose how you earn Atmos Rewards points and importantly, status points.

Three ways:

✈️ Distance — 1 mile flown = 1 point
💵 Price — $1 spent = 5 points (before taxes/fees)
🔁 Segments — 1 segment = 500 points

Here’s the part that matters: if you don’t choose before the end of the year, you default to miles flown.

And anyone new to Atmos from 2027 onward?

You earn based on money spent. That tells you exactly where this industry is going.

Cheap short-haul hoppers → segments.
Long-haul premium flyers → price.

Choose wisely — you only get to switch once a year.
