Scooby Doo fan? You need this.

Hex Girls ▪︎ Mystery Inc. ▪︎ Coolsville
Thorn ▪︎ Velma ▪︎ All the nostalgia

It's just a fun, cosy, lil read all for nostalgia reasons! Bit of a YA vibe with romance / teen drama and overall just an insight to what could be Thorn. Fanfic or not I'm here for it. Thank you @lilymeade 🙏

Everything’s chill in Coolsville. . . until the Hex Girls move to town. Can Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang solve the mystery surrounding the goth rockers before someone gets hurt? Find out in this dark, mysterious, and exciting take on the beloved Scooby-Doo cartoon!

Coolsville is shaken up when eco-goth band The Hex Girls move to town. Teenagers Thorn, Luna, and Dusk are looking for a fresh start for themselves and their band after the disastrous events that destroyed their hometown and Thorn’s reputation. But things take a turn for the worse when a mysterious mist starts killing crops and making people sick wherever Thorn goes. She quickly becomes the town’s prime suspect and is outcast once again.

As her band falls apart, Thorn turns to the Mystery Inc. gang, especially Velma, for help as they try to solve the mystery and prove Thorn’s innocence. While the gang thinks that Thorn’s magical powers are the key to stopping the growing threat to Coolsville, Thorn is sure magic will only bring more harm than good—and that revealing her true nature would make her an outsider forever. Can they solve the mystery and save Coolsville before someone gets seriously hurt. . . or worse? taken in Scooby Doo Mystery Machine by @steffs.chapter

- Sawako Natori (Translated by Yui Kajita)

There’s a lovely exploration of a personal journey through a wonderful bookshop and its books but I didn't find MMC likeable 😭

I’d recommend reading The Friday Bookshop in small spurts - setting the scene with a coffee shop or public transport atmosphere.

Birmingham UK based? Hit @weluckycoffee.brumie (pictured📸) for a lovely spot with a brew ☕️🍵

The book is split into four sections / extra long chapters, but within each section there are easy breaks that make it simple to dip in and out. Not my usual structure but one I'd recommend, just not quite for me 📖🫶

Welcome to the Friday Bookshop, a cozy little bookstore tucked inside a rustic train station north of Tokyo. Rumor has it, you’ll find the perfect book there—one that you need at that particular moment, even if you don’t know it yourself....

When college student Fumiya visits the Friday Bookshop as a last-ditch effort to find a book for his ill father, he is disappointed in its ordinary appearance despite whispers of its peculiar charm. But he soon discovers that it not only includes a café where the food menu changes daily on the chef’s whim but also a vast underground vault lined with bookshelves, lovingly converted from an old abandoned subway platform. The bookshop, run by a quirky trio who have been close friends since high school, quickly becomes Fumiya’s favorite place—so much so that he begins to work there part-time.

Fumiya, who was never really a reader, learns to embrace the joy of reading, and that books can be a means to connect with other people and navigate the twists and turns of life.

Through colorful interactions with the zany shop owners and their visitors, as well as mouthwatering dishes inspired by the books the owners recommend, it’s impossible not to fall in love with the seemingly ordinary yet enchanting little bookstore in the subway station in Kanto. taken in BOOKSTA by @steffs.chapter

- Patricia Prior

OUT NOW 📣
Paperback & ebook 📖📲

Oh Patricia hunnai, you well and truly got me out of my slump 🙏

A read that stemmed from inspiration from a ouija cat toy? Amazing.

I absolutely... devoured this read. It's fun, swoon-worthy, a touch emosh, and the MCs are just a delight. I mean, Evie is so relatable being a fellow girl who always had to do it for her while looking out for others, learning to become vulnerable. And theres Milo, our underdog demon turned puppy dog, learning human ways with cosmopolitan 💅😭

The paranormal demon drama, the yearning and the running out of time. Ugh 👌

And a moment for Marmalade, pls 👏🐈

Thank you @authorpatriciaprior for the eARC.
Appreciate you always!
And excited for more...

Evie's life was perfectly under control. Then her cat summoned a demon.

Evie
Running a bed and breakfast in the quiet town of Brindlewood means routine, responsibility, and very little room for chaos—which is exactly how I like it.

Unfortunately, my cat had other plans.

Now, there’s a demon in my home who insists I summoned him and refuses to leave until I make a bargain for my soul. I don’t believe in demons. I definitely don’t believe in bargains. And I’m certainly not making a deal with the annoyingly charming stranger currently helping himself to my blueberry muffins.

Milo
Thirty days.

That’s how long I have to secure a bargain before Hell drags me back for failing my final assignment.

The problem? The woman who summoned me refuses to believe I’m a demon, won’t make a deal, and keeps feeding me baked goods instead of negotiating.

Evie Feywin is stubborn, suspicious, and completely uninterested in giving up her soul. Unfortunately for both of us, she’s also the most fascinating human I’ve ever met.

Thirty days should be more than enough time to convince one small-town innkeeper to make a bargain. But the longer I stay, the less I want her soul—and the more I want the life she’s built instead.

The only problem?

Hell doesn’t accept cancellations. by @steffs.chapter
