Short story:

I once dated this guy and we had a conversation about the future and how to manage family members and this guy told me even his aunties have a say in his life that they can tell him what to do and he does it to make them happy if I was very desperate for marriage I would have gotten into serious trouble being with such a person

Listening to it you might think he was talking about obedience or being respectful towards elders noooo he was clearly telling me he had no say in his family and when I got that I was like this is where we part ways and knowing his tribe i understood why it was going to be difficult for the relationship to work

some other men will tell you if his family comes to your house and you placed your couch on the left and they come and change it to the right just let them do what they like for peace to reign hmmm ladies be attentive when these men speak to you don’t just be focused on he is my type 🙌🏽

So before you marry someone, don’t just get to know the person, get to know the culture and family you’re marrying into.

Some families are still very conservative and strongly believe that their sons must marry within their own tribe. And sometimes, those expectations can affect the woman who enters that family.

Love is important, but it’s not the only thing you should consider. Before you venture into marriage, ask questions. Understand the family’s values, traditions, expectations, and how much influence they have over their son’s decisions.

Because you may think you’re marrying the man you love, only to realize later that you’re also marrying into a culture you never took the time to understand.

Note that not all men are cowards tho

This generation is not as bad as people think…
