Dear friend,

Maybe you've done the therapy, read the books, done the work, and still something feels just out of reach. If you've been feeling the pull towards something deeper, this might be it.

Symbiosis is a six-day healing retreat created for people at a crossroads. Set on a former Wadden Sea island in North Holland — a landscape shaped by Viking settlers and ancient tides — this is not a typical retreat. It is a genuine rite of passage offering a space for deep transformation.

What to expect:
→ Somatic inquiry & trauma-informed inner work
→ A guided healing ceremony to help you reconnect with yourself
→ Voice liberation with internationally acclaimed teacher and musician @bettina.maureen
→ Transformational breathwork
→ Yin yoga & embodiment practice with @sorayasteen__
→ Nature immersion hike through ancient land in a natural reserve
→ A quintessential Dutch cycling experience
→ Kind community of people who showed up to do the same
→ Nourishing and delicious vegetarian and plant-based meals

"This has been like 100 years of therapy in five days." — Gabriela S.

The space is trauma-informed, inclusive and warmly held. We are a home for all, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ participants. We believe inner healing and collective liberation rise together.

🗓 13–18 July 2026 | Wierschuur, Wieringen, Netherlands
🌿 From €1.995 all-inclusive | Flexible payment plans available
📋 One single room remaining. Spots are limited to 16. All of you is warmly welcome here.

Pain has a bad reputation in our society. Grief, shame, or every kind of hurt, are treated as problems to be solved or hidden, so we learn to swallow them or dress them up as something easier to live with, for ourselves and for the people around us.

Yet pain belongs. Each time we grow, an old self dies, and we mourn it whether or not we notice. The people we love will die, and so will we. On top of it all, there are wars, genocides and ecological breakdown making species vanish at record speed before our eyes. The grief of it all lives in our bodies.

Pain is an inevitable part of the human experience. Suffering, though, is what grows and grows when we refuse to feel it.

Any feeling we push down stays deeply tucked inside of us, waiting, and these repressions unconsciously shape how we love and how we treat one another and the world. Unexpressed emotions can also numb us or make us feel hopeless or stuck.

When we face sorrow fully and directly, and we let it move through us, through our physical body, healing begins. Yes, it’s hard, and it takes courage. But if you really allow it to surface, to let it move in any way it wants to, even if it’s ugly or uncomfortable or intense, even if it feels like it will burn you up from the inside, you will discover something absolutely beautiful.

By offering deep compassion and presence to the discomfort, an alchemical process takes place. So let it burn you. Let it unravel you. There is nothing to fear, there is only beauty and innocence to be found at the heart of it. Relief eventually comes, and with it a spaciousness and openness where joy and creativity can take root, finally.

This joy and creativity is the beauty our world needs now more than ever, because from joy and creativity comes right action. Forged by the very energy we so feared inside. Wow.

Are you ready?

“Yes, at the “absolute” level, we are pure awareness, the consciousness prior to form.

But — and this is a cosmic BUT! — at the human, absolutely biological level, we are mammalian creatures, wired for closeness, co-regulation, and deep, safe attachment.

Integrating those two absolute truths is where real “enlightenment” lives.

True spiritual maturity isn’t floating above the human condition in some kind of spaced-out, detached awareness.

It is having the courage to embody this form completely, to land fully in this soft body, to honour our profound mammalian attachment needs, and to risk everything to love other human beings and animals.

And to let ourselves be loved in return.”

— Jeff Foster

I always so deeply resonate with @jefffoster Thank you for sharing your wisdom 🙏🏼

“To anyone who needs a little love,” writes @lylajune, “remember:

Regardless of your current or past situation, the Ancestors love you dearly and cradle you more than you’ll ever know.

The heartbeat of the universe is with you always and is always just one prayer away.

You deserve a safe and uplifting environment where people’s words are spoken with genuine intention to make your feel loved, cared for and encouraged.

You are enough, you are doing enough just by trying, and doing our best is all that is ever asked for.

We celebrate your inherent beauty and your natural talents, we like your smile and think you are a blessing to the world.

The pain and shame and mistakes you might carry are burned away with every new dawn when you can start again, unconditionally loved.

You don’t need to fear because with love and prayer and patience any situation can and will be improved.

Not even death can part us from the Creator’s love. We just have to let it in as it waits to hold us.”

Blessed Autumn Equinox, friends.

The Greeks gave Artemis the title Mistress of Animals (Potnia Theron), and the Romans carried her north as Diana. I feel she stands for the wildness that wasn’t mankind’s to tame, the part of us that runs with the deer and the moon and doesn’t know timetables or neatly kept hedges.

Perhaps she is less a goddess to worship than an old friend to be greeted again, waiting with patient eyes at the tree line, however long we’ve been gone.

Artemis also knows how to say no without apology, and that alone feels like medicine for our time. The old order was built on people, especially women, staying quiet and small and available. Every time one of us remembers our wildness, that order loses a little more of its grip.

How are you serving wildness and regeneration this equinox, as the patriarchy crumbles?

Finding deep ecology 🌿✨

For Arne Næss, the Norwegian philosopher and founding voice of deep ecology, meeting our ecological crisis required more than better policy. It required what he called self-realisation: a broadening of our sense of self, and the recognition that we belong to a larger living whole.

Næss called this the ecological self. Without denying our individuality, there is a deeper truth: we are not separate beings placed inside nature; we are made and woven from the living world itself.

He questioned the habit of dividing life into compartments: nature and culture, observer and observed. Much education still teaches us about nature as though it were outside us. Deep ecology asks for something else — direct experience, sensory immersion and relationship.

We do not protect what we merely feel we should. We protect what we love. And love grows through truly meeting the world.

This is why time in wild places matters; a valley, a river, a mountain teaches in ways information simply cannot. Through beauty, silence, and humility, we remember that we belong to something larger than ourselves.

Go outside, friend. Meet the wild.

Arne Næss (1912–2009) developed the idea of the ecological self and invited each of us to find our own ecosophy — a way of living rooted in our deepest values and our relationship with the natural world.

The Eclipse Portal closes tomorrow, August 28th — Full Moon, North Node Lunar Eclipse, Pisces. 🌒

Sit with that for a second. What moved in you these last two weeks? Something unexpected, something confusing, something you didn’t see coming? Did you feel your heart crack open somewhere you’d sealed shut a long time ago?

Pisces is water. It dissolves the edges between you and everything else. It’s the sign of merging, of transcendent love, of remembering you were never as separate as you thought. A Lunar Eclipse on top of that isn’t gentle. It’s vivid dreams, sleepless nights, messages arriving from unexpected or even mysterious places.

This whole portal began with the Solar Eclipse in Leo; a release, a letting go of what you’d outgrown. Now the North Node is asking something different of you. Not what you’re leaving, but: where you’re headed. Your destiny is whispering, and eclipses are rarely subtle about it.

If there’s a change you’ve been circling, tonight is asking you to believe it’s possible.

What shifted for you during this portal? Tell me below 🌊

Nobody tells you initiation is supposed to feel like a death. 🗡️

The old roles loosen. The old self has to go. And without ritual to hold it, it’s easy to mistake this becoming for falling apart.

You’re not broken. You’re mid-threshold. 🌒

Tag someone walking through a threshold right now.

“We have tried everything to get rid of suffering. We have gone everywhere to get rid of suffering. We have bought everything to get rid of it. We have ingested everything to get rid of it.

Finally, when one has tried enought, there arises the possibility of spiritual maturity with the willingness to stop the futile attempt to get rid of it and, instead, to actually experience suffering.

In that momentous instant, there is the realization of that which is beyond suffering, of that which is untouched by suffering. There is the realization of who one truly is.”

And here’s the beautiful part: in the willingness to take responsibility for integrating our own pain and trauma, we are, quite literally, clearing our share from the collective field of pain and trauma; and as we do, we are lessening the overall burden of suffering for others.

By addressing our own pain, the whole body of the world exhales a little more freely. 🌬️✨
