We’e shared a few sneak peeks thru insta stories while Stellar Violets trolleybus 54 has been quietly welcoming guests for just the past few weeks. It’s been a really lovely start! So it’s time to share more about this special project, and some of the people behind it.

I haven’t been posting on socials much, but tomorrow morning, I’m sending out a little more of the story behind the trolleybus transformation.

For this post, I thought about whether or not to add a little sound. But I found this one in my saved set that fits the story of the bus. So, I’m sharing “Enough” and murmuring the line, “Don’t you even think of giving up” in love & support for all who have walked, and are walking the “night garden”. Keep walking. These lands are my heartlands, where one branch of my family have lived for five generations. Heartland studio, I hope, shares a sense of softness that might counteract, just a little, the hard edges of this world.

We've sought to infuse comfort, beauty and practicality at every turn in this space. Of the two adjoining studios within the cottage, Heartland is accessible, too. With full kitchen including an amazing induction cooker, master bedroom with king 'cloud' bed, and accessible ensuite.

Sprinkled on top soft 3-seat vintage sofa and lounge chair to sink into, cosy rugs to lie on in front of the hearth fire, and a restored antique dining setting overlooking the gardens. Yeah, at this rate I'm threatening to move back in!

We've had a dream run of lovely guests throughout April whose enjoyment has brought me joy... are you coming next?

Light the hearth fire, cook a meal, and be still for a while, watching autumn leaves falling gently all around. — Lucinda

It was just a run down old fibro cottage when I moved here, with small windows and a rabbit warren of rooms.

Outside, degraded fields of kikuyu and a few lonely shrubs comprised “the garden”, and I felt exposed — to the wind, to the world. Pulled to the earth in response, I began. And it’s been “my assignment” ever since. Just hard enough, just lovely enough, just mad enough to keep me...

Stellar Violets and its many stories wouldn’t exist without all the people and creatures who’ve loved it into being. Too many to name here — thank you all, truly.

It is with delight I can announce we FINALLY have a few special spaces open for bookings!

This is my invitation: come and stay.

Immerse yourself in this place of my heart and hearth, where I’ve planted my soul. Let it love you, as it has loved me.

▪️Life’s goal should be to forever find ways to breathe in the serenity of the scenery.

This exquisite bathroom in @stellarviolets cottage is a reminder to create spaces that not only look stunning, but feel beautiful while you’re in them. We feel very fortunate to have created these combination bath pillar taps and copper shower with 140mm copper rain head for this space.

Nearly 2 years ago I flew to WA for a full immersion into the future visions of @stellarviolets (which are brilliant by the way). A bunch of ideas flowed from that trip but one that I’ve been brewing ever since has been that of a hand painted landscape in the form of a shower curtain. And now, here it is!

Through abstract painting I am interested in capturing and interpreting places of environmental significance. I have been, for a while, translating them onto large pieces of linen which have taken the form of bedding and hanging pieces, but this kind of product is a first.

This place is Yeagerup Dunes, a place where the sand eats about 5km of forest every year, but is some 30km from the ocean.

Through a lot of research I have successfully waterproofed the fabric. This commission will now live in the newly refurbished Stellar Violets cottage which will be opening up for guest visits very soon.

I feel a real sense of privilege and honour to be included in this space that has been the dreamt up and is finally being realised. And I can’t wait to visit!

A very special home, now more than half hidden by a garden we began planting in 2009… it’s the first heart of Stellar Violets and we’re preparing to share it with the world soon, sometime in 2024. Our last meeting of the year was with a man leading a build company called Fruition. Seems pretty apt, for a place with apples at its heart, and orchards all around. One of these women followed her dream back to her heartland and is now the architect and dream maker of @stellarviolets @lucinda_escence

The other, is the new Mayor of Margaret River 🎩 and about to unleash a world of change with a focus on sustainability and better communities @juliajeanrice

Last week I had the pleasure of returning home to Manjimup to spend time at @stellarviolets to think through, design and collaborate on their new accommodation and experiences offering. It was a truly magical ✨ experience and I felt incredibly fortunate to be part of the journey that was full of trust, heart and intuition.
