Are you having a @bourtonhall wedding in the Chapel, then here’s a few photos of the different colour sashes that the venue offers, and also the different styles of draping on the chairs, and set ups with or without the blossom trees, and with or without the white carpet runner! Why not save this post to your wedding planning file so you can refer back to the colours! taken in Bourton Hall Wedding Venue by @stemsations

Let me show you this stunning cascading structural bridal bouquet….it’s not your average wedding bouquet!

I’ve probably over shared too many photos here, but my camera roll is bursting with about a million variations of the same photo!

Beautiful rich colours. A little bit of drama. We’re talking velvety deep pink calla lilies, glossy burgundy anthuriums, (expensive!) pink orchids, (very expensive!), vibrant red roses and trailing Amaranthus

It’s a statement bouquet. A talking point. A little bit of floral fabulousness.

There were also mini versions for the chair ends in the chapel at @bourtonhall which were then repurposed as guest table flowers..♥️

Congratulations K & A on your wedding day, it was a joy to create! taken in Bourton Hall Wedding Venue by @stemsations

🎄 CHRISTMAS WREATHS… I’M OUT! 🎄

Once upon a time, I used to make Christmas door wreaths. Lots of them!

But these days, it seems every village hall, church, pub, school PTA and possibly someone’s spare bedroom is hosting a Christmas wreath workshop! 😂

You can barely move for a wreath-making event! And do you know what? Good for them! 🙌

But I think the market might be just a tiny bit saturated. So this year, I’m hanging up my wreath-making scissors and leaving it to the workshops.

Want a Christmas wreath? Get yourself along to a local event, grab a glass of something festive, make your own and enjoy yourself!

Me? I’m done. That ship has sailed. It’s gone over the horizon and I’m not swimming after it. 😂
And between you and me… my nails absolutely HATED making wreaths anyway.

So, if you were wondering whether Stemsations would be making Christmas door wreaths this year, the answer is NO! and I will not budge on that decision! (I’ve got a month of weddings, so I won’t be lolling on the sofa watching Hallmark Christmas movies!)

I’ll leave the moss, wire, pine needles and knackered nails to someone else!

Merry Christmas! 🎄😂.

Wedding enquiry: “We’d love chocolate and toffee tones with burgundy!”

Me: YES PLEASE! 🙋‍♀️ Pick me to be your wedding florist!

And here’s what I created… 🤎

Cappuccino roses, chocolate-coloured lisianthus, mocha and caramel tones and the deepest, darkest calla lilies.

Rich, warm, opulent and oh-so gorgeous!

The three bridesmaids carried bouquets in slightly paler shades of warm cream and biscuit, which looked absolutely perfect against their chocolate brown dresses. They were still in their pj’s when I delivered, so you are going to have to take my word for it!

A match made in heaven… Lots of love from a contented florist! 🤎🤎 taken in Bourton Hall Wedding Venue by @stemsations

A.I. is distorting floral inspo.. because at first glance, photos like these looks completely believable. (I hope the 1st one is obvious though!) That’s exactly what makes AI floral inspiration problematic.

Over the last few months I’ve found brides are sharing their inspiration/ Pinterest boards and it’s full of A.I generated photos of flowers.

So, what wrong with that you may ask… and my reply.. “these flowers do not exist, the flowers, the colours, the size, the texture, and so brides are expecting their real life flowers to arrive looking like that, which leads to unrealistic expectations”

Because when you’ve spent months looking at that image, it’s very easy to think: “That’s what I want.”

But your florist needs to work with real flowers, real varieties, real seasons, real colours, real stem lengths and flowers that actually exist.

You can use A.I for inspiration but I will always let you know what images you send me are A.I, and will show you alternatives that are similar using real flowers.

Your Pinterest board is still a good starting point to share your floral vision, but please be cautious that some of your images haven’t been created by a real life florist who survives purely on caffeine, that may swear a little and loves a comfy warm pair of boots but instead by a bot called ChatGPT/Claude/Microsoft CoPilot etc..!

So I will take all your images, real and not so real and translate it into something real with real life flowers.

PS. And if anyone replies to this post, saying “stunning work” or “gorgeous flowers”, I will personally drown you with my spray water bottle!

All images shown are A.I. generated as examples, and I’ll suffer the consequences of my algorithm now showing me more of these ‘creations’ 😭😬😬 by @stemsations
