Things I saw in Mexico City that I can’t stop thinking about…

The grandiose scale of La Catedral Metropolitano.

The sacred indigenous city the cathedral was built overtop of that was rediscovered by utility workers in 1978.

This perfectly patina’d bench by Mexican sculptor Alejandro Velasco that looks like a piece of jewelry.

Casa Azul.

This mixed media mural “Genética y memoria: un recuerdo al mestizaje” (2024), by Afro-Mexican artist Baltazar.

This ancient Aztec sculpture representing the transient nature of the human form.

Parque México.

This monochromatic coffee shop in Condesa called Tōboe Café.

This T-chair at a vintage store in Roma Norte called Trouvé.

The brutalist architecture found in the airport and all over the city. taken in Ciudad De México by @steph.scott.design

Sometimes it’s the smallest spaces that make the biggest impact. This little bar alcove wasn’t part of the initial plan, but I saw an opportunity to create something special, and the client trusted me.
When I asked them what was their favorite part of the design, they said the bar - and I agree! taken in The Fan by @steph.scott.design
