Here’s how my weekend started. The last two days, @smiletrain hosted cleft affected and family/friends of the cleft affected community to gather together for Cleftcon here in NYC. It was every emotion that you can possibly imagine. So many highs and then definitely some tough realizations of what still is ahead for families and Individuals as they battle for care that should be GUARANTEED and yet is still a battle. In September, I will be joining a group for the Day on the Hill where we will be advocating for the ELSA bill. If you want to know how you can help? As soon as this bill gets presented (again) to the house, we need ppl to reach out to their senators and let them know ELSA matters. Elsa expands beyond the cleft community. It will benefit anyone born with a congenital abnormality. If there’s something that shocked me about this weekend, it was how many adults STILL need surgeries and IF their insurance covered it as a child, the rules change after 18.

This is one of the backwards things about wellness, losing weight, and fitness. More work and more time doesn’t always = more results.

Still so grateful to @realsophisticatedjoy and @smiletrain for letting this panel step on stage to flip the script from cosmetic solutions to cleft confidence. Seeking out aesthetic work is not for everyone but for me, it has personally transformed my confidence and given me the power to embrace my cleft more

I love love love NAD+ and I’m totally fine with it becoming my entire personality. The way it has improved my brain fog, workouts, and skin - I just cannot say enough good things about it. NAD+ is something WITHIN your body that we need and by taking it, you can increase your cell and dna repair.

When I reflect on my 50lbs weightloss journey and the things that led to success and the things that I still am challenged with today- this is one of the biggest mental shifts that led to the biggest results for me consistently.

My biggest wins for weight loss and fat loss came when I never stopped challenging myself. It’s so important to have a huge goal and then break it up into smaller more achievable goals but the key is to keep challenging yourself and to avoid complacency. For me this takes way more mental strength than physical

This is something that I have had to work at over the years and it takes more mental fortitude than it takes physical.

Showing up in some form everyday for yourself is huge, however each day the output cannot be the same AND IT SHOULDNT. Some days it might mean a brutal workout and others it might mean walking to do your errands or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

SUCCESS is never linear but the outcome of your mind, body & spirit mostly stem from the way you show up for yourself
