POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This weekend, we're calling on our community to urge their US senators to cosponsor the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act (ELSA). Your voice matters, and we need advocates like you to help build momentum and push this bill forward to ensure that no one in our community is ever again denied the coverage they need.

Want to get involved? Join Tiffiny Tyler's letter-writing session on October 19 for guidance on how to make your voice heard and help move this effort forward.

Then, join us next week for Smile Advocate Saturday (SAS). This is a critical moment to speak up. Every message helps build momentum. Let's make sure our senators hear from us!

Learn more and find out how to participate through the link in our bio.

Hello #TeamELSA!

We have less than 3 months to get the #EnsuringLastingSmiles Act passed in the 119th Congress.

It’s up to us to continue to move ELSA forward. Our grassroots advocacy continues to move mountains and garner support.

Let’s keep our momentum and continue to share our stories. We all have friends and family across the United States. Please ask them to advocate alongside you.

Please reach out to the @ensuringlastingsmilesact page with any questions or comments. We are here to help you.

The craniofacial community is counting on your advocacy. Your bravery and stories will change history. 💟

We’re taking action next week!

Join us for our September Smile Advocate Saturday email campaign on Saturday, September 26, and help make sure our legislators hear from the cleft community.
Here’s how to participate:
• Email your legislators using Smile Train’s pre-written email template, available through the link in our bio.
• Wear your advocacy pin featuring the message: “Cleft Care is Healthcare. Pass ELSA.”
• Take a picture and tag us so we can amplify our collective voice!
It only takes a few minutes to send an email, but your participation can make a difference for a lifetime.

Let’s fill inboxes, raise awareness, and show our legislators how important it is that every child in the US has access to medically necessary cleft care.

One email. One voice. One powerful movement. Together, let’s take action!

This year has brought no shortage of unexpected changes and new paths, but along with those changes came support from unexpected places and incredible people. Moving federal legislation is never a quick process as it demands endless time, patience, and unwavering dedication.

To #TeamELSA, thank you for continuously showing up to ensure the #EnsuringLastingSmiles Act becomes law.

Thank you to my kids for being selfless, incredible advocates along this journey.

Thank you to the #ELSACoalition members for fighting daily to ensure patient voices are heard and activating your members and communities to advocate alongside patients. ELSA continues to be one of the most supported bills in the 119th Congress because patients and providers are working together to create lasting change.

Thank you to the dozens of advocates who consistently attend virtual legislative meetings. Special thanks to those who step up to host virtual calls when I am on the Hill, and to everyone jumping on emails to advocate for their home states.

Thank you to Sarah for capturing our meeting minutes, Emylee for keeping our social media active, and the ACPA alongside Adam for hosting our web resources.

Thank you to Kevin, Jen, Alli, Tara, Aidan, Ryder, and Sarah for raising your voices together on behalf of patients across the United States and helping with many aspects of the coalition.

Thank you to the Gosain Lab for attending legislative meetings and supporting our advocates, and to Dr. Carter and Dr. Menefee for creating such impactful awareness posts.

Thank you to our bill leads and their staff for your leadership. And thank you to every legislative office that has cosponsored ELSA.

Thank you to every single person who reshares posts, raises awareness, and keeps momentum going. Thank you for showing up and supporting one another as you can.

ELSA has always been driven by grassroots advocacy. Every story shared and every voice raised brings us one step closer to the finish line. TeamELSA is stronger because of you, and because of your determination, patients will one day get the care and coverage they deserve without a fight.

Ready to make your voice heard? Our next Smile Advocate Saturday is coming up on September 26, and we’re getting ready to make an impact!

The first step? Getting your advocacy pin! Featuring the message “Cleft Care is Healthcare. Support ELSA.”, this small pin makes a big statement — and shows everyone that you’re standing up for the cleft community. Order your pin through the link in our bio.

Then, on September 26, join advocates around the world as we take action and email our legislators! Together, we can make sure cleft care stays on the agenda and that our voices are heard.

Pin up. Speak out. Take action.
