Registration for my Winter & Spring 2027 Workshops is now open.

Each workshop is limited to just 7 participants, creating a supportive studio environment where there's plenty of time for individual guidance, meaningful conversations, and hands-on learning.

A week in the studio is about more than learning techniques—it's an opportunity to deepen your practice, challenge yourself creatively, and return home with renewed confidence and inspiration.

If you've been thinking about joining me, I'd love to welcome you. Workshop spaces fill quickly each year, so register soon for next year's workshops through the link in my bio.

Some pieces don’t just fill a space. They give it character.

When I place my pots in a home like this, I’m always interested in how they become part of the architecture, landscape and the life of a space. They draw the eye, create a sense of balance, and bring a quiet presence that feels as though they’ve always belonged there.

For me, that’s part of what is compelling for me about clay. A ceramic vessel can command attention without overpowering its surroundings. It can emphasize the design of a garden while feeling entirely at home in it.  It creates a greater sense of a place to be.

If you are interested in exploring how my work might elevate your own space, let’s have a conversation. DM me for customized work.

A few more weeks to experience Grand Gestures...

As October draws to a close, so does my exhibition, Grand Gestures, at Berkshire Botanical Garden.

Some of my favorite moments from the exhibition are captured in these photographs. If you haven’t had the chance to see the work in person, I invite you to visit before the exhibition comes to an end. And if you’ve already been, there’s still time for one last look.

Thank you to everyone who has visited, shared in the experience, and supported the work. I hope to welcome a few more of you before the month is over.

A week in Vermont, a wheel, big balls of clay, and an idea.

I came into Stephen Proctor’s workshop @stephen.procter.studios with the support of Les Dames ATX @austindames and a goal: learn how to make large amphorae to ferment and age my wines.

I expected to struggle. I expected mistakes. I expected there would be things that just wouldn’t click. And I decided that was okay. If I learned even one thing, the experience would be worth it.

Well… I’m leaving not only completing my goal of making a large pot (~80lbs), but also with whole notebook full of lessons, techniques, artists recs, books recs, questions, ideas, and a completely different way of thinking about my work.

One question that really stuck with me was:

“What are the verbs of your pots?”

I don’t think I have the answer yet. But I’ve started thinking less about what my pots do and more about what I want them to make someone feel, remember, notice, or experience. The gesture it provides in a space.

I came into this project thinking about an amphora as a just a vessel for my wines.

This week reminded me that a vessel can also have a voice and speak more to the wines.

So I’m leaving Vermont with more than a completed goal. I’m leaving with a desire to make more room for the artist in myself and see where that takes me.

I guess the next part is finding out.

Thank you, Stephen, Les Dames ATX and thank you to everyone I had the pleasure of learning along side this week. 🤎🏺 @adrienneash_ taken in Brattleboro, Vermont by @stephen.procter.studios

On Metaphor...

A vessel can be more than an object. It can become a metaphor for what we carry, what we preserve, and what we hold.

Ceramic vessels are rich with metaphor and association. They suggest cultural history, sustenance, fertility, plenty, the human body, and holding of any kind. These complex resonances reward contemplation.”

Perhaps the most interesting question is not simply what a vessel holds, but what it comes to represent.

I took the most transformative workshop last week 🤩 Over 5 days, I learned alongside 6 other students as @stephen.procter.studios taught us tips and techniques, introduced new and improvised tools, and offered the needed support and encouragement for us to throw BIG POTS. I threw what is by far the largest piece I’ve ever made! The workshop ended 2 days ago and I’m still over the moon. Steve was a fantastic teacher. Kind, patient, and available, as well as a clear communicator who also let us learn by doing…and sometimes pushing ourselves or our projects further than we thought was possible. This piece was made over 4 days, contains 6 thrown sections (or 7 depending on how you count them), and at last measurement was over 30”h and just under 20”w! I’m still astounded! Thanks, Steve!!! Also, I loved the little corner of VT that I was able to explore. I miss the people and the experience already. Time to place an order for some boxes of clay!! 🏺 taken in Cotton Mill Hill, Brattleboro, VT by @stephen.procter.studios

I love the coming of fall in New England! Cool nights, crisp days, and flowers and foliage turning such lovely colors that set off my vessels in new and unexpected ways. I love it when my pieces find a home in such an exquisitely beautiful setting! taken in New England by @stephen.procter.studios

On Invitation...

Like a good poem, painting, or musical phrase, the vessels invite a moment of pause and contemplation.

They are not simply objects to be observed, but evocations of memory, feeling, and introspection -- and perhaps revealing something within ourselves that has been waiting to be noticed.
