One week in.

She’s doing exactly what we raised her to do.

Meanwhile, I’m over here realizing I suddenly have fewer people asking me where their stuff is, why there isn’t food in the fridge, or if I can transfer them $20. 😂

It’s such a weird season.

You spend 18 years raising them to become independent humans… and then they actually have the nerve to do it.

So apparently this next chapter isn’t just hers.

It’s mine too. ❤️

Empty nest moms… are we okay? 😂 by @stephkohlenstein

From struggling to thriving—small changes, big results! ✨ Dropped from 30 lbs, ditched the bloating, mood swings, and energy crashes, and finally found balance. 🙌🏽

If I can take control and find balance, you can too! There are no secrets here - I’m happy to share what worked for me - let’s chat!

I spent years doing everything right. Eating well. Working out. Staying disciplined. And my body just… stopped responding.

No one tells you that in midlife, the rules change completely. Perimenopause changed the rules on me, and MORE wasn’t the answer. You can do all the same things and get completely different results. And it’s not because you’re failing.

I’m down 30 pounds and I’ve kept it off for over two years.

This isn’t about going harder. It’s about getting smarter — and supporting your body instead of fighting it.

The best part isn’t even the number on the scale. It’s that I feel like myself again.

If you’re wondering, what if this doesn’t work for me — Your body isn’t broken. It’s just been waiting for the right support.

Tell me, has your body ever just stopped responding, even when you were doing everything right?

Comment BREAKTHROUGH and I’ll tell you exactly what I take. by @stephkohlenstein

Some days I still have to talk myself into it. Not because I don’t want to feel good — just because some days are hard, and showing up looks smaller than I thought it would.

But here’s the thing — I show up anyway. That’s the whole thing, really. Every day doesn’t have to be perfect. If the opportunity is sitting in front of you, it’s your choice to show up. 🫶🏽 by @stephkohlenstein

Just two “kids” fighting over their daddy’s attention.

Hunter and Charlie, same energy as our actual kids used to have. Sorry babe, you’re outnumbered. by @stephkohlenstein

In high school, she didn’t really do Halloween. Didn’t dress up, didn’t really participate in much of anything.

Now she’s at college, living her best life. Participating in a Halloween streak that I literally never knew existed. Four nights out, all planned and bought by her.

I just get to sit back and watch her become her.

College moms — did your kid find themselves like this too? 🥹 by @stephkohlenstein

A month ago I turned 50 and celebrated by working out. Not because I had to. Because I could and because I feel my best when I’m moving.

If you’re waiting for the perfect time to start taking care of you, this is it. Not Monday. Not January. Now.

New month, same me. Still showing up — for me. What are you still showing up for, or are you waiting for January 1? by @stephkohlenstein

Welcome to my haunted house 👻 No ghosts, just real life at 50. Perimenopause, the empty nest, it getting dark at 5pm, and the candy bowl. What’s the scariest room in your house? by @stephkohlenstein

Happy Halloween 🎃 I’m not in a costume, I’m just going to be the lady in charge of the candy bowl. And yes, I’m eating the good ones first. All the Reese Cups! What are you stealing tonight? by @stephkohlenstein

POV: your dogs think daylight saving means dinner is early. 🙃

It’s not even 4 o’clock yet and clocks don’t go back until 2am tomorrow. Somebody tell Hunter and Charlie they’re a day early — and BACKWARDS. by @stephkohlenstein

21 years in and he’s still glued to me. Still crushing on me. I mean... I’ll take it. by @stephkohlenstein

The temperature drops and suddenly I’m convinced my body is preparing for hibernation. 🐻😂

Why do my leggings feel tighter and more uncomfortable than my shorts did yesterday!

And just like that, my brain starts going: Am I bloated? Have I gained weight? What is happening?!

Here’s the thing: I feel the best I’ve ever felt. I’m stronger, healthier, and more confident than I’ve been in years. But that doesn’t mean I don’t still wake up some days with my own insecurities or question how I look and feel.

I’ve had to work on catching those thoughts before I let them take over. One uncomfortable morning doesn’t erase the work I’ve put in or change how far I’ve come.

So if you look in the mirror today and your mind starts telling you something negative, take a step back. Remind yourself that you are beautiful, even on the days you don’t quite feel it. Your body might “look” and feel different from day to day, and that’s okay. 🤍

Now, can we talk about why leggings sometimes feel so tight?! Please tell me I’m not alone. 😂 by @stephkohlenstein
