A little look inside my life the past couple of years.

Let me know if there's anything you want me to elaborate on and definitely let me know if you're living a similar lifestyle (can we start a support group?πŸ˜…)

I'm pretty grateful to have a lot of supportive people in my life even though many say they could never do something like this but they support the fact that I do & many people have really helped me out too when I've needed anything really so I'm certainly not actually alone.

I've learned so much about myself during this journey. I think the biggest thing is learning to be more resilient and trust that things will always work out. It also teaches me to let go of my comfort zones because things definitely feel uncomfortable sometimes in the unknown.

I believe life is meant to be filled with new experiences and not feel like the same day being lived over and over.

But of course everything is a balancing act right, if we're constantly doing new things then are we ever truly spending enough time doing one thing to be present in it?

I suppose thats why I do strive to at least be in one spot for a few weeks at a time as well.

Anyway, it certainly has been interesting and filled with ups and downs but I'm proud of myself for going for it after years of being certain I'd keep holding myself back.

One day this season in my life will change, I know I'll miss it and I'll also say 'Wow, I actually did that πŸ˜…'.

I don't see a problem with this type of behavior...

Who else thinks this all makes perfect sense? πŸ˜†πŸ’€

BC is full of many amazing backpacking trips, I feel like I've just scratched the surface.

These are my favorites so far.

1. Golden Ears trail to Panorama Ridge Camp: *Must reserve a backcountry overnight permit on BC Parks website & then its first come first serve*

2. Elfin Lakes: Must reserve tent pads or the shelter on BC Parks website

3. Berg Lake Trail: Must reserve tent pads in various camp spots in advance. This books up fast but you can keep an eye out for cancelations if you have flexible timing. I have a detailed blog post I can send you if you like (just ask for it in the comments)

4. Tenquille Lake: Must reserve the cabin or tent spots on Pemberton Wildlife Association website. More details for the drive there too, there are couple of routes and 1 that definitely requires 4x4. I made a YouTube video about it (ask below if you'd like me to send it to you.)

Sorry summer lovers... the best time of year is NOW πŸ‘»πŸ‚πŸ˜

I love summer but Fall is the best in my opinion, best for hiking, camping & I LOVE spooky season.

Fun fact about me if you didn't know: I'm obsessed with horror TV shows & movies.

Share your favorite scary show/movie below if you're into horror πŸ˜†

*Currently loving the new Carrie show & enjoying the final season of American Horror Story*

Those early Fall adventure days πŸ‘Œ πŸ‚

A couple weekends ago near Port Alberni camping & hiking. We even snuck in a paddle boarding day too. I love these days before the wet weather sets in and the days get shorter. Soaking it up right now!

This is the best time to hike Watersprite Lake in Squamish in my opinion...

Camping & the hiking trail is way quieter this time of year and really pretty with the fall colors.

Please note this video was taken another year in October so always check current conditions for the trail & road in. This trail definitely gets snow in the winter!

To book tent pads or the cabin you have to reserve through the BCMC website (recsites.bcmc.ca).

The road in isn't too too bad but you'll still want decent enough clearance mainly closer to the end where there is a small cross ditch & the road gets a bit rockier & steeper.

Wish I could get here this year! Have you hiked to Watersprite Lake before?

It turns out... we do get Fall here on Vancouver Island πŸ‚

I find the colors are a bit more dramatic on some of the hikes here that you can do in the early fall. Strathcona Provincial Park and Alberni Valley hikes are pretty amazing for fall colors.

But we also get plenty of yellow leaves all over the island too.

I also love this time of year on the island when the tourism slows down and it gets even quieter out there in the wilderness. It helps me shift back into that slower island time vibe.

Where are you chasing fall colors right now?

Pretty grateful to get to spend all of my spare time in beautiful places like these.

What more do I need?

Snippets of last weekend in the Alberni Valley in Vancouver Island 😍. It was a perfect weekend filled with a variety of outdoor adventures. And we sure have been getting some really nice fall weather!

What makes you feel most fulfilled?

Camping season doesn't have to end, it can actually get better!

Of course this is probably more enjoyable for us west coasters and maybe not if you're somewhere with super cold snowy winters haha.

But I personally think off season is the best time to camp in the west coast of BC!

Yes we do get some rainy periods but we also still get nice weather and with the right gear it can still be enjoyable if its a little wet.

I wanted to do this hike all summer! I'm so glad fall has started out with such great hiking conditions to squeeze this one in.

Another beauty hike in Strathcona Provincial Park on Vancouver Island.

Any guesses which one this is?

Its one that's worth the steep grind up and ouchie decent lol πŸ˜†

One of my favorite areas to hike in the fall is definitely Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest.

Tons of hikes in that area are filled with vibrant colors this time of year.

I sure miss the ease of being able to head there for a day hike when I lived near Vancouver. Tempted to come out there soon before it's too snowy to.
Looks like the snow has been coming fast there!

Get those fall hikes in soon while you still can!

This trail and a couple others get extremely busy on the weekends so plan to arrive early or go during the week if you can.
