Story time ✨

I’ve signed up for the Houston half marathon three years in a row. This is the first year I started and finished!

•Two years ago, I signed up and didn’t train at all and didn’t even go.
•Last year, I trained with my gfs and we trained hard, I was ready to run. The night before the race I found out some heartbreaking news, that had me sick to my stomach, plus taking care of a sweet little kiddo with the flu, on top of severe knee pain, running wasn’t going to happen.
•September 2024, I decided to sign up and NOT TELL ANYONE. (Besides my parents and eventually, Brother & Paige) I signed up for me and I was going to run it for me. I was extremely motivated to get it done this time.

& with ALL that motivation, I ran ONCE, 2 miles, in Virginia Beach, while visiting Brother, Paige & Lena over Thanksgiving.

There was pickleball and some infrared heated classes thrown in there, but as far as true half marathon training, there was zero.

But, I knew I was going to do it. My goal was to not stop, run the whole time and make it under 3 hours.

Despite the freezing cold temperatures, no training and no headphones, this race was, by far, one of the most fun activities I’ve experienced. I was fueled by encouraging messages & videos from my family, lots of praying, sweet thoughts of Josh & Katherine (family friends who are watching from heaven), LOTS of mind over matter and all the spectators. 🫶🏼

I finished in 2 hours and 35 minutes, didn’t stop running once. Amazed and full of gratitude.
Mission accomplished. 🤍

Kidding, these two have been such a wonderful example of love and I’m so grateful to have them as my parents, happy anniversary, love you both so much and cheers to many more years of adventures together! 🤗 by @stephmatelli

The sweetest little guy. Thanks to @rescuedpetsmovement & @4p4l_rescue for tagging this little loaf!

So many great things to say about little Wade. He is the most chill puppy! Upon arrival he was a big velcro boy, wanted to be in between your legs or touching you at all times. Over the next two weeks he really came out of his shell. Wade loved to sploot, play with his foster sisters, throw acorns around the yard and cuddle. His coat is really clean and he has the softest hair on his little head! Walking him is a dream, no hands required, just have to strap his leash to your waist, he doesn’t want to be far from you at all!

We had the best time fostering Wade and I just know he is going to thrive and his future family is going to fall in love and adore him just as much as we did!

Cats (would probably chase) 🚫
Dog friendly ✅ (ALWAYS encourage slow intros)
People friendly ✅
Kid friendly ✅
Takes treats softly ✅
Meds 🚫 have to hide the pills (he will spit them out)
Loud noises 🚫 (wee bit of a chicken)

Does not resource guard ✅
Plays well ✅
Potty trained 💛 (mostly, does well being taken out immediately)

Oh to be loved by this sweet, sweet, handsome lad. Vilmer was my 60th foster, all 80lbs of him are perfection. He LOVES so BIG!

Colorado friends, yall better scoop him up before I drive up from Texas and get him back ;)

Crate Trained ✅ (treat motivated)
(Prefers to sleep in bed, on sofa or in dog bed)
Dog friendly ✅
Potty Trained ✅
Loves toys ✅
Takes treats gently ✅
Not food aggressive ✅
Does not resource guard ✅
Friendly thru the fence with other dogs ✅
Walks well on leash ✅
Will chase after squirrels ✅
Walks past cats ✅ (was not tested with them in a house setting)
Will tolerate baths ✅ (not a favorite past time)
Don’t leave shoes

Besides being a little mouthy when he plays, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this boy! He was such a joy to have stay with us, truly an amazing guy, who will make a phenomenal companion. He loves walks but is also completely okay lounging on the sofa. BIG on contact naps and loves affection. Vilmer was mindful of my resident girls boundaries and was such a positive fella.

💍💍From Chapa to now a Boone, congratulations‼️ @megannnboone had her bachelorette party here with her best friends. It was football season for us with only small tuna at the time! But hey, no size limit at they went home with sushi! @paigenbarker, @stephmatelli battled through a little sea sickness to land a trophy cuda!
