I was so lucky to visit one of my favorite people in the world! Caity invited me into her home, took care of me, and let me chill with her in her world for a few days. Austin adventures, puzzles, shopping, snakes, animals, charcuterie, amazing bacon Mac’n’cheese, and the most gorgeous double rainbow I’ve ever seen.
I love you Caity, thank you for taking me in for a few days!

“Everything hurts & and I’m dying”

This girl knows how to show up, when to show up, and somehow manages to bring the exact perfect gift every single time. She saw my story where I was wearing a similar shirt and she immediately made us matching shirts with the most true and timely saying I’ve ever heard.
Isn’t it just like us to smile through it all on the outside?
Lindsey and I are soul sisters, we get each other, and we have since we were 13 years old.

Chicago and Styx far exceeded my expectations! I love nothing more than an exciting night out with my hot hubby, my friends, up close live music, and then coming home with multiple souvenirs from the stage!

Two shows with my own band and then this amazing concert. What a much needed wild weekend!

The challenges that come upon us can sometimes be disorienting. We can feel completely unprepared for the things we are required to face. The feeling of being misunderstood or inadequate can be deafening and overwhelming.

Summer is coming to an end.

I typically think of summer as the best time of the year, but this summer there were many moments when I felt like I couldn’t take the heat any longer.

The weeds in my garden have grown more vigorously than the fruit. Some things thrive in the heat, while others wilt and wither away. Sometimes the heat is simply too much to bear.

The challenges faced by me and many of the people I love have been far-reaching. There has been so much change…some expected and some unexpected, some welcome and some devastating, and some a complicated mixture of both. All exactly as it should be. Somehow.

I feel positive when I focus on the things that bring me joy. My family, my relationships—both active and inactive—my opportunities, my connection with the divine, the earth, love, music, and the gifts available to me.

Even some material things help me feel grounded and seen in some specific ways, including my black kyanite crystals, spine candlesticks and purple flowers.

Some things are too surreal to put words to.

Today is our silver anniversary! 🤍 25 years!

Andy and I met when we were 18 years old. Neither of us was looking for a serious relationship, so when we met, after he had already received his mission call to Moscow, Russia, we thought we were safely in the clear.
We figured we would date, have fun together, and then he would leave on his mission.

Well…in addition to dating and having fun, we fell in love. Very quickly.
We dated for about two months before he left.
We didn’t expect to fall in love.
We didn’t expect to write to each other every week for two years. (We still have every letter!)
And we definitely didn’t expect to be married within seven months of him coming home.
Nobody expected it, but that is exactly what happened. I feel incredibly lucky that we found each other when we did.

Marrying Andy was the best decision of my life.
Andy has the qualities I truly need in a life partner. He is one of the most forgiving people I have ever known. He has a rare ability to look beyond the difficult parts of people and focus on the good in them. I have been the recipient of his patient, accepting, nonjudgmental way of loving, and I have definitely needed that!

He is such a calming and peaceful presence in my life. He brings out the best in me and loves me with all of my flaws, complexity, and humanness. I love to see how much passion is inside of him. When he chooses to do something, he does it all the way and is so dedicated. He works incredibly hard for the things he cares about, somehow while maintaining a sense of calm that is completely unmatched.

His infectious laugh was one of the first things that caught my attention…along with his stunning blue eyes, easygoing personality, humility, and sense of humor.
As I got to know him, I discovered his fierce loyalty, honesty, trustworthiness, deep love for all things good, and commitment to God.

25 years later, Andy is still the perfect life partner for me.
I love him so much, and I am so grateful for the beautiful and fulfilling life we have created together. He has taken such good care of me over the years and I can’t wait for all that is still to come! by @stephselcho

Floating the river today with Andy and some new friends we met was both relaxing and invigorating. Taking some time for each other has been so good for us, we make each other happy and have had the best few days together!
Enjoy several Avett Brothers videos up close at the end. Some of their lyrics are so profound, so moving, so inspiring and make me self reflective.
