All the Australian music releases (in release order) from the original run. But why are there 3 versions of ‘Step One’ you ask? 🇦🇺

Version 1: Released locally through Liberation Records (subsidiary label from Mushroom), this included ‘One For Sorrow (W.I.P Remix)’ as a bonus track (labelled incorrectly as ‘Remix’). Some early editions came with a free double sided poster.

Version 2: In February 1999 the album was repressed with ‘Tragedy’ as an additional bonus track. The W.I.P remix is still incorrectly labeled. This edition was released locally through Mushroom Records, as by this point Liberation Records had been absorbed.

Version 3: By mid 1999 Jive had set up shop in Australia and Steps moved locally to its subsidiary Zomba. Due to this label change, Mushroom Records stopped any future pressings and Zomba locally pressed another batch. This version is copyright 1999 (the first 2 were 97/98), removes Tragedy from Track 14 and correctly labels the W.I.P remix.
The CD is also on a silver disc as opposed to the White on previous releases. by @stepscollection_

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted on this account, @glitterstepspod has been keeping me busy. I have acquired a lot of new items over the past year and many items that I’ve still not posted.

I recently got my hands on one of the original editions of ‘Never or Now’ by @lisascottlee1 after many years of trying to track one down that didn’t require me to remortgage my house. This edition from South Africa Includes a slight mis print, with ‘You’re No Good For Me’ not listed on the back track-listings but is on the inlay and CD.

Been a bit MIA on this account lately, as I’ve been enjoying a lovely month away in Europe. This book by @michaelcragg has been my holiday read and I cannot put it down. Brilliant time capsule of a decade in pop music that shaped so many of our childhoods and lives, including the FABULOUS chapter dedicated to Steps.

Dying to hear the original demo of 5,6,7,8 with H on the middle eight and interesting to get the full story on the 1999 Belle & Sebastian fiasco. 📚 by @stepscollection_
