Good evening. A new piece. Deeply emotional I feel. Finding new things. Feeling expressed seeing/feeling balance in the chaos. A purpose within uncertainty. Trying to find that name a definition of what is seen and felt. I'll find it. In the meantime. Enjoy. 50"x50" graffiti inks and acrylic on canvas. #interiordesigners #chicagoartist #abstractart taken in Chicago, Illinois by @steve.banaszek

My second commission!! Complete!! And the client is very happy!!! Thanks Nick!!! This piece is from my Street Vibe series. The street vibe series explores differences between visibility and erasure. A graffiti tag is partially exposed through layers of smeared color and texture. Echoing the constant cycle of tagging, covering, and reworking found in the inner city. Blending graffiti tags and other symbols (Japanese kanji in this case) and varied forms of lettering can add another layer of visual conversation, suggesting that ideas expressed on the streets can cross language and cultural boundaries. and to me at this point in time, or any time understanding other cultures is an essential message. Enjoy. Peace out. by @steve.banaszek

I always hesitate when I feel finished on a commission piece. "Is this what the client is looking for" I know what I see. Balance, action, rhythms. But. What about the client. Will they be happy?!?!? Well... My second commission has been accepted. It resonates with the client! All is good. Thanks Chad!!! The piece has a lot of action to it. Movement. Much like the client. Getting it done. Moving forward! At least that's what I see. They may see something else. The beauty of abstract painting all see something different, feel something different. Different eyes see different things, different hearts beat on different strings ....

On a random Tuesday night visit to the studio I was working on some projects. I glanced over at the commission piece I am working on, the little voice in my head said" lets play" I had no intentions earlier. I was of the mind set " I really need to focus on this" if I am going to get where I want this piece to look like and make the client happy. Well, so much for that reasoning. I smeared a couple of layers. Nothing. Then I was , lets change perspective. I spun the piece 90 deg to vertical and worked from that position. layers started going on. Oh.. that's a good color mix... oh.. lookie at that one.. then after the turquoise went on... it triggered in my head. " STOP" Don't touch anything else! I rotated it back to a horizontal position and even more so I was.. " It's done" A small part of me was " but is this what the client wants" Well, regardless, i needed to present it. It would be easy enough to start over with a blank canvas if the client wasn't happy with it. But I sure as hell was not gong to be painting over this!! My spider senses were tingling!!! The client LOVED it!! So now just need to varnish sign create a COA and deliver. Enjoy! Happy Friday!! Dims are 80" x 40" by @steve.banaszek
