Why I create #ambientmusic

I’ve spent the last 3-4 years curating a sound that creates calm. But there are so many projects that were never completed or shared.

They can only help if I actually share my art with the world. Always free. Because music is one of our great art gifts.

This project starts with #ambientdrones. These slow, evolving tones set an atmosphere for healing, stillness, or meditation.

Slowly forcing myself to do less. Let the music breathe

Thanks for following along. The #DAWless approach favoring live performance has done wonders to improve my creativity and productivity. Hoping to have this album done in the next several months.

Most of my inspiration comes from traveling. Seeing the beauty of nature and art from all over sparks the creativity to compose.

This visual provides a warm nostalgia that I hope translates. A sunset on the Greek island of #Skopelos and a beautiful pasture in #københavn were visual anchors for this piece.

🤓 **I am finalizing the mixing and mastering on this track for an upcoming album. My precious videos were a lot quieter and less-balanced because I forgot to gain stage 😩. The beautiful struggle of an independent artist.

🎧 These are highlights from a 15 minute recording session. I started with a peaceful ambient drone. Added bit by bit. And enjoyed the journey.

Ambient drones are interesting. Boring, but complex. Simple, yet ever evolving tones that are perfect for sleep, mindfulness and disconnecting.

My biggest challenge has been keeping the project focused. Many of these tracks (like this one) have grown into something a little more than a simple drone.

I started working on this track during a recent trip to NYC. I visited the 9/11 Memorial the day before the 25th anniversary. So much has happened in this world, since that day. The use of drones has evolved in the absolute worst of ways.
