Yesterday, I joined 10 other elected officials to demand access to the holding rooms in 26 Federal Plaza, where ICE has inhumanely detained thousands of immigrant neighbors. We have a duty to hold the government accountable when unalienable rights are at risk.

That’s why I peacefully sat alongside my elected colleagues to show that us New Yorkers are not going to stand idly by as human rights are ignored and the United States Constitution continuously violated.

Honored to have received the Bayani (Hero) Award this year from @fanhsmny. This year’s theme for Filipino American History Month is “Beyond the Margins: Centering Intersectional Filipino American Histories”, so let’s make sure we highlight all the contributions of Filipino Americans, especially those usually unseen, all month. Congrats to the other awardees and what a great start to FAHM! taken in Queens Museum by @stevenraga

Our Assembly Office stays committed to keeping our neighborhoods clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who lives, works, and visits Western Queens. That is why we are proud to provide $60,000 in funding to @aceprogramsny to support critical street-cleaning and beautification efforts throughout Assembly District 30 🧹🗑️🪏

This funding will help ACE address quality-of-life concerns by cleaning streets and sidewalks, removing graffiti, power washing public spaces, and carrying out additional sanitation and beautification initiatives. These efforts will help improve the appearance of our neighborhoods, promote cleaner public spaces, and ensure that Western Queens remains a vibrant and welcoming place for all.

Maintaining our clean streets is about more than appearances, it is about community pride, public health, and ensuring residents feel proud of the neighborhoods they call home. Through this investment, we are reaffirming our commitment to working with community partners like ACE to deliver meaningful improvements and make a visible difference in the daily lives of Western Queens residents - let us know if there are any hot spots we can flag for ACE! taken in Woodside, Queens by @stevenraga
