Not exactly an all new haul, but I was able to upgrade my Tier 2 @thebrokennbinding versions of Memory, Sorrow and Thorn upgraded higher than Tier 1!!! And of course, I got the new book from @realtadwilliams The Splintered Sun! Thanks again to @kingsenglishbookshop for making it all happen! by @stevereadssff

Royal Assassin by @therealrobinhobb . 4/5⭐️ Well… That took a twist. Without giving it up, the ending ended up in a place I had not seen coming. Whether I liked it or not is dependent on the next book. Aside from the ending the rest of the book is quite good, the characters, the prose, etc. all picks up on the level book 1 had and expands on all fronts. Definitely hits you in the feels on multiple fronts too. by @stevereadssff

@fonda.lee broke tradition with this story and I appreciate the older female protagonist in a corporate society where retirement doesn’t mean what I’d want retirement to be. And @thebrokennbinding kept with tradition with this siiiiick edition! Great story, great edition! by @stevereadssff

This may be among the most beautiful books I own. @thebrokennbinding really made a premium and quality feeling book with this. I got the book and picked it up off my front porch and immediately knew what it was. Nice to see Sam Elliott might not have been in the live action, but his essence is captured on this! by @stevereadssff

Assassin’s Apprentice- 4/5⭐️ I had the immense privilege of meeting @therealrobinhobb a few months ago and knew I needed to get to the Farseer Trilogy asap. Well, my TBR kept me from that, but I’ve now finished Assassin’s Apprentice and begin to understand the esteem. She writes quite beautifully, but much like her speech in person it’s well calculated and articulated. Always with an intention. Always with purpose. Even meandering doesn’t happen without a reason. This was a 5/5⭐️ all the way until the end where I felt a bit rushed out of the story and the world. I know these books get longer and there are a lot of them, but the ending felt like a publisher told Robin Hobb to cut it down a bit for a debut. by @stevereadssff

4.25/5 ⭐️ This ended about how you’d expect it to with @literarysewer Change came, change sucked, change gave way but in a slightly better way with a bitter sweet Chaga taste. The characters as always were great, as they had been through the series from beginning to end. The fighting left little to the imagination and were riveting with the upmost brutality. This was never going to be a “love conquers all” or “good wins” story, you have to be realistic about these things. But Joe did leave the world in a more realistically better place with a lot of opportunity for the characters to have learned from the past.
I’m quite sad to have ended my journey through this universe, it’s one I thoroughly enjoyed the meanderings the entire time and will revisit often. For my money, it’s among the all time greats! by @stevereadssff

Starting a new game of This or That: Judging a book by its cover. Goal is simple, just by the cover, which of my books would you grab at a bookstore knowing nothing about the story? At the end, a winner will be crowned! And I’ll probably celebrate with a giveaway of some sort because I’ve had a lot of fun with those!

So why not start with some heavyweights of the same story? The Hobbit! OG or leather bound w/slipcase? by @stevereadssff

5/5 ⭐️ I know the First Law Trilogy is beloved, but after two books I’m willing to go full Dan Brock and rip the crown from its hands. This book was enthralling from beginning to end and the battles were so well written the visualization came effortlessly. This really does feel like peak @literarysewer with the wit, irreverence, humor, brutality, and voice. I cannot recommend this series enough. Here’s hoping for an epic finale, but I’ve been hurt before and you have to be realistic about these things. by @stevereadssff
