Stream it wherever you get your music.

NIGHT LIGHT is a nocturnal journey—an ode to mystery, dreams, and the unknowable. One of my favorite releases in a long time.

Got to meet the legend himself, @larry_chen_foto when we took the S14 up to Redmond for Type S Night Lights. First time taking the car out to a show since finishing the build. Even Emily's dad drove down from Anacortes to spend quality time with us. Nice way to celebrate my first completed build in over a decade. ♥️ @typesauto taken in Redmond WA by @stevewishman

Emily's cousin came to visit again so we took him to Hat Yai to have the best damn fried chicken in town. Chaotic night. They accidentally gave us a whole extra chicken. What a spread! Food coma, imminent... 🤪😵‍💫 by @stevewishman

My first time at @fivestarsfamilyburger in Cornelius OR, and I had NO idea what I was in for. Showed up right after they opened on Saturday, and I was the 6th customer of the day. The wait was already 30min because David does not rush his burgers! So much charm and so much personality in this place! The second I walked in the door it was like catching up with an old friend. David called me out side to keep him company while he cooked, and wanted to show me every detail of his process. I got a kimchi Burger to eat there and a bulgogi Burger to bring home for Emily. I left with a full tummy and a heart full of emotions. Had to shut off the music in the car and just drive in silence for a while to let the entire experience sink in. 100% the most unique and soul-satisfying culinary experience I've ever had. No wonder this place was voted best burger in Oregon by Yelp, multiple years running. IT'S ALL LOVE ♥️♥️♥️ taken in Five Stars Family Burger by @stevewishman

Some of the artwork at The Grand Lodge hit way to close to home. My grandmother, on my father's side, worked for the BIA and my dad used to tell me stories of what it was like growing up "on the res" in Shiprock, NM. His mom was a teacher who also had to "drive the school bus" which was literally a horse drawn wagon. Third is why my dad was such a man out of time. He was part of the silent generation but acted much older, as if he'd grown up in the old West. He told stories of living without electricity in some places, having to light oil lamps on the walls at night. Imagine going from that to smart phones and AI in a single lifetime. The mind reels... But back to the point of these paintings:

One thing he never talked about was the BIA's role in trying to suppress Navajo culture altogether. I don't know if he was ashamed of this fact or just oblivious (or willfully obvious, as he oft was) He told me stories about attending "sings" (or Dinés, in Navajo), which are healing or blessing ceremonies which involved multiple days of prayer, song, and dance. He told me the kids were instructed never to peek inside the dwelling where the elders were praying or they might go blind. (Of course, kids being kids, he and the Navajo boys did it anyway and got scolded)

Later when he asked me, incredulously, why I went to Peru to stay with an Ayahuasquero, I told him it was HIS stories that made me fascinated with shamanism at an early age. He couldn't understand it because he considered it all superstition. When he asked why I was interested in Korean culture I told him I wanted to know more about my culture origins, and he shook his head, and told me, "You're not part Korean. You're AMERICAN. Get that through your head."

So these paintings really threw me for a loop. Knowing my dad grew up in such an environment, where a culture's erasure was normalized for him, explains a whole lot about his position on what it meant to be a while man in America. "No Indian Talk" is a three word sentence that speaks absolutely VOLUMES. 🙁 by @stevewishman

Just SOME of the incredible artwork adorning the walls at McMenimans Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. Spent most of my late night roaming the halls, looking for clues and secret passages. (I found it too! SWIPE TO THE END for the reveal) 👁️📐🔱 taken in McMenamins Grand Lodge by @stevewishman

Never stayed in a haunted masonic lodge before. I would recommend this place to literally everyone. Hands down the most unique hotel experience around these parts. Definitely going to take the ghost tour tomorrow morning if I survive the night. 👻🎃🌜 taken in McMenamins Grand Lodge by @stevewishman

This novelty takebōki (竹箒) broom I picked up at the @portlandjapanesegarden has surprised me by being the best shop broom I've ever owned. MASSIVE sweeping footprint and super long handle—It's like wielding a small tree. Great for sweeping out an entire garage in just a few seconds and the way it fans out, it manages to pick up debris underneath tool boxes and shelving. (Added bonus: if you want to beat traffic you can just straddle it and fly away) ✨🧹 Follow me for more tips by @stevewishman
