The one I wanted most. I’ve been lucky enough to win already quite some nice races, but the standard course world title was missing from my resume. After a difficult and slightly dissatisfying performance in Costa Rica last year I was very eager to show my capabilities this time around. Very happy with how the race went. In control, no mistakes and with a final shot of energy in the tank left if needed. I raced conservatively to not make any mistakes, and it paid off.

The #DutchDomination continued today, as @jessedeheer took silver and @frank_oosterom_ocr a fourth place. @adrimartin.c crashed the party with a strong race from a later wave, which is a very impressive feat.

Tomorrow is the final dance of the championships. Looking forward to it! by @stijnemite

That was a good one.. After a big block of training, having this fall season as the main objective for the year, and feeling that my fitness is high it feels great to kick off two months of racing with a win. A nice battle with @balissimo_ for the majority of the race makes the victory feel even more hard-fought for. Proud of my diversity this year, from winning the forearm fatiguing @ocreurochamps a few months back to this @spartanraceeurope championships with a demanding running course.

I am quite happy with myself for not getting dropped by my extremely fast French friend in the mountainous section, even pushing the pace myself in some parts. The initial gap created between us had to do with an (un)lucky sandbag choice, and afterwards I was able to extend the lead in the final obstacle/carry-dense kilometers. An uncomfortably close spear throw could’ve ruined an otherwise well-executed race, but this time the coin flipped on its good side and I crossed the line comfortably in front. Hoping to continue this form onto the next races!

Super nice last-minute addition to the racing schedule, competing at the @nndamtotdamloop business run for Aveco de Bondt. With my last road race in February of 2024 I wasn’t sure what to expect on this 10 mile (16.1km) course. Unfortunately I couldn’t latch onto a fast group, as our wave started just behind the elites. That would have been an ever cooler experience in this deep field of athletes, and might’ve saved some energy battling the headwinds on our lovely Dutch dikes 🇳🇱 Had a good time clawing my way further to the front of the race though! Averaged 3:08/km, finishing the race in 50:22 in a 24th place overall and winning the business category. Guess it pays off to be a working man 😎

Two easier weeks of training now before the real highlights of the year are up! Five championships from October to December. Busy times - see you there! taken in NN Dam tot Damloop by @stijnemite

The timing of the @falkesport #DedicationMatters campaign is immaculate. I’m still grateful and privileged in the way I can live my sports-lifestyle, but the addition of work definitely requires some additional dedication to the training craft 🏃 🚴 🏋️ So far so good though, as I am nearly finishing a big 4-week block 📈 The Spartan Championship season is upon us! by @stijnemite

Since a week I am a working man! Started at @avecodebondt as project coordinator. It has been interesting to learn a lot about foundation types, ground water, vibration meters and much more! The home-to-work commute is also beautiful ☀️

Don’t worry, I am still persuing all of my sports ambitions. Starting out at only 24 hours per week and with a high-level sports agreement put in place that benefits both the company and myself! 📈 by @stijnemite

Definitely some FOMO watching @theuipm 3km race today 📺 Brings back some good memories of a very nice trip last year. Happy to see strong developments with the course and the level of athletes attending 💯 A visit to the far east is definitely on the list for next year 🇨🇳

Last year it was more of a time-trial, with all of the favorites in different heats. Great to see a semi-final and final setup this year!

A small change of scenery 🇫🇷 Battling both rain and gravity last week ⛰️ Took my quads some days to forgive me for this race, luckily now all that remains is a nice memory! taken in L'Échappée Belle by @stijnemite
