Spartan World Championships 🇭🇷 3rd place 🥉

What a battle from start to finish! Every second mattered, and the fight was on until the very last meter.

Unfortunately, I missed the spear throw, and with 30 burpees on a 6.5 km course, fighting for the win was pretty much out of reach in such a competitive field. Making up that much time against these guys is almost impossible.

But the fight for 3rd place was still on, and every second counted. In the end, I managed to secure the podium, finishing around 45 seconds behind the winner., which makes me really proud 💪🔥

I’m happy with the result, but at the same time, a little disappointed. The goal was to win and defend my world title. But that’s a sport. Sometimes luck is on your side, and sometimes it isn’t. Unfortunately, this time, I was the guy who missed the spear. 🎯🙈

But that’s racing and I move on to the next challenge! The Spartan Trifecta Weekend in Sparta 🇬🇷 in just 3 weeks. Three races, around 45 km in total. 🔥 Let’s see what I can do there. 🦍

WK SPARTAN RACE SPRINT!

Vandaag stonden drie van onze ambassadeurs aan de start van het WK Spartan Race Sprint (5 km) op het Kroatische eiland Hvar. Het werd een zware wedstrijd met veel verschillende soorten terrein, uitdagende obstacles en een spannend speerwerpmoment vanuit het water.

🥇FRANK PAKT DE WERELDTITEL!

Stijn en Frank liepen lange tijd samen mee in de top 3. Voor Stijn ging het mis bij het speerwerpen, waardoor hij een penalty kreeg en zijn kans op de overwinning zag verdwijnen.

Frank kwam iets later aan bij het speerwerpen en zag dat de nummers 1 en 2 hun worp hadden gemist. Hij bleef gefocust en wist de speer wél raak te gooien! Na een lang stuk zwemmen en de laatste obstacles hield hij zijn voorsprong vast tot de finish en mag hij zich nu: Wereldkampioen Spartan Race Sprint noemen

💪STIJN OP SLECHTS 10 SECONDEN VAN HET PODIUM

Ondanks zijn penalty wist Stijn nog te finishen op een knappe 4e plaats. Met slechts 10 seconden achterstand op nummer 3 was het ontzettend spannend tot het einde. Na zijn 2e plaats van vorig jaar laat hij opnieuw zien dat hij bij de wereldtop hoort!

🔥 KNAPPE 14E PLAATS VOOR ZILVER

Ook Zilver kwam in actie op het WK. Ze loopt nog maar relatief kort mee aan de top bij de dames, maar wist een mooie 14e plaats te behalen. Een sterke prestatie op dit niveau!

Drie ambassadeurs aan de start op Hvar, met als hoogtepunt een wereldtitel voor Frank.
Wat een prestaties, gefeliciteerd alle drie! Trots om jullie in ons team te hebben!

🥈Spartan Sprint World Championships, Hvar 🇭🇷

The comeback was surreal! I was in 2nd place after Nicole failed the slackline, only for me to fall off the Z Wall and have to do a technical trail bucket carry penalty loop! After finishing the penalty, I lost so many potions. I was in now in 8th, moving up to 6th after the hoist and sandbag carry. I overtook another athlete on the descent from the castle and then moved into 3rd place on the last bucket carry, overtaking Henriette and Sara and entering the spear throw alongside Nicole, battling for 2nd. I hit the spear, and then all I could hear was Ash screaming for me to swim like hell and try to catch Zuzana! (Last video 🥹❤️ I so appreciated having him here.)

Grateful for the battle with incredible ladies and to finish on the podium in a very competitive championship.

Hang On atleet Frank Oosterom wint Spartan Sprint 5K World Championship Hvar Kroatië.
Het tempo lag direct hoog en moest hij wat toegeven . Bij de log carrey wist Frank het gat dicht te lopen .
Daarna wist Hang-On atleet Stijn Lagrand de kop weer over te nemen maar bij de bucket carrey wist Frank wederom erbij te komen .
De route ging via steile paden omhoog naar het fort waar diverse obstakels overwonnen moesteb worden. Op de weg naar beneden wist Stijn
naar beneden toe opnieuw een gat te maken.
Aangekomen bij Speerwerpen op drijvende doelen was het een zaak om raak te gooien. Missen kost je al snel 2 minuten en dus kansloos. De nummer 1, 2, 3 kwamen tegelijk aan . Frank Oosterom was de enige die raak gooide en maakte hierdoor de beslissing en pakte het goud. Voor Frank die weliswaar vaker op podium stond is dit de eerste keer op het allerhoogste podium. Chapieu Frank! Stijn lagrand die in Esterel de 21km Spartan op naam wist te zetten moest door het Missen met speer tevreden zijn met 4e plek

Sur le papier, loin d'être ma course favorite avec les 3 sections de natation! mais c'est un championnat du monde, il faut donc être présent pour représenter son pays 🇫🇷
Il a fallu se battre, s'accrocher, ne rien lâcher et à la fin sa paie toujours 🥈⚡

Félicitations @frank_oosterom_ocr pour le titre 🙌🏻 et aussi tout les gros poissons du jour pour cette bataille ⚔️

7th place at the Spartan Race WC Sprint. While it’s one of my worst placements in quite a while and not what I was hoping for, I’ve got to say Havr is still one of my all time favorite races. ☀️ You better believe I will keep coming back no matter how long @thomasblancadventures keeps making those carries. 😬 I couldn’t help but smile even while failing the slack line, spear throw, AND the rig. 🙈

The sprint WC leaves no room for error and I didn’t go into this race with an abundance of fitness to make up for those errors. I guess that’s a good thing that I have so much to improve upon. 😅

Huge congrats to everyone, especially the podium winners! 🫶
