Why this guy’s friends left him to do the rock-off alone on obviously his first time, I don’t know! At first It was kind of funny to watch, but then so scary to see he obviously was a complete beginner, by how he was paddling. Wayyyyy out of his depth. Paying no attention to the ocean. .

Stay within your skill set and your limits, especially when the waves are massive. It’s not a time to learn 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Last week, Dan and I were 7 weeks pregnant and feeling so hopeful about the future. Next minute, I was in hospital wondering how everything changed so quickly.

One thing that’s really struck me over the past few days is how many people have quietly said, “this happened to me too.” It’s a heartbreaking club to be part of. Miscarriage affects 1 in 4 women - and honestly, probably more, because so many losses happen early and in silence.

We don’t talk about pregnancy loss nearly enough. I think we should.

Our IVF journey started in October 2024. Since then it’s been two egg retrievals, two surgeries, endless medications, multiple embryos that didn’t make it - and finally one beautiful tested embryo that gave us a positive pregnancy and very strong HCG levels. We were stoked!

We walked into our 7week scan feeling excited and quietly optimistic. With levels that high, we were bracing ourselves for twins.

Instead, we were told there was no embryo.
The sac was measuring 7 weeks, but it was empty.
My body kept progressing as if everything was normal, but the embryo hadn’t developed.

It’s called a blighted ovum, or a missed miscarriage.
And it’s cruel AF.

In my early 30s, my doctor brother suggested I freeze my eggs. I didn’t. I hadn’t met the right person yet and believed things would happen when they were meant to. Looking back now, I wish I had made a different choice. I have 42 birthdays next month, and this journey feels very real in a different way now.

If egg freezing is something you’ve been considering, please don’t put it off. Think of it as a form of insurance for your future self. The costs in Australia have come down a lot, and there are even grants available now, for everyone!

Sharing this with a lot of love, and in the hope it helps someone feel a little less alone.

A multi-day cabin trip with an old school friend in British Columbia. It was high avi danger so we didn’t get to do our alpine objective, but we did get to send some pillows 🩵

The last two months saw us do an enormous renno our bathroom, 6 weeks before Christmas. It was a HUGE undertaking which I massively underestimated. There were tears but it’ll be worth it, everyone said! 🫠 🤔

A massive thank you to my dear mate @markosmaximus for moving in & tackling the build, cutting windows in, solving all the problems & making me laugh throughout.

To @djc0909 whom if we were married, I’m sure would have divorced me 😂

& to all the trades for making it happen : Jolyon, Laurie, James, Isaac, Angus, Johnny & my mum!!

Heading back to Japan in a couple of weeks. I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to snowboard. I miss my old life so much sometimes. It’s pretty special to share my big love with my other big love @djc0909 🩵

How quickly life can change … 1 year ago, I met the most magical man I could have ever dreamed of.

Since then, we’ve had adventures in 8 different countries, surfed, snowboarded, & ate our way through Europe!!
We’ve made so many incredible memories on the way &
I’ve never been more excited for the year ahead!!
