Rob said it plainly in his testimonial video. He wasn't a good salesman. "Felt slimy, didn't like it."

Then he built his 1-Slide Offer and started walking prospects through it.

Here's the part I keep coming back to. At the end of his calls, people would say "this is really good." He'd ask what questions they had. And they'd tell him they didn't have any.

Over seven weeks, that added up to $91,000 in sales.

If you've ever closed a client and still felt a little gross about how you did it, sit with that for a second. No questions at the end of a sales call doesn't mean they weren't paying attention. It means they could see the whole thing and didn't need to be talked into it.

Rob didn't learn to sell harder. He stopped having to. by @stirlinggardner

If you've ever hung up and replayed a sales call for an hour trying to find the exact moment it went sideways, this one's for you. Most of the time the moment isn't hard to find. It's when you started explaining. Save it for your next call. by @stirlinggardner

You’ve probably tried a bunch of sales scripts because you’re never quite sure what to say on a sales call.

The problem is, none of them sound like you.

So you either feel awkward following the script...

...or you abandon it completely and spend the next 60 minutes explaining everything you know.

Meanwhile, your prospect is trying to answer a much simpler question:

What exactly are you going to do, and how is that going to get me the result I want?

If you can make that incredibly clear..

...and even better...

...show it to them visually

...you don’t need all the scripting, objection handling, or sales gymnastics.

That’s the problem I’m building this Custom GPT to help solve: why we make selling so much more complicated than it needs to be, and how to simplify it. taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @stirlinggardner

I spent Sunday afternoon trying to get AI to say my offer better than I could say it myself.

Four passes. Different wording each time. All of it technically fine. None of it sounded like I'd said the thing I actually meant. By the fourth pass I was more confused about my own offer than when I sat down.

Here's what I understand now that I didn't understand that afternoon. Clarity is a source problem. Not a phrasing problem.

AI is good at exactly one thing here: accelerating whatever you hand it. Give it a clear idea and the phrasing gets sharper fast. Give it an idea you haven't fully thought through yet, and it hands you back a smoother version of the same unfinished thought. Smoother. Still unfinished.

The test I wish I'd run that Sunday: can you say your offer in one clean sentence without any help at all? If you can't, AI won't get you there. It'll just help you say the unclear version faster than you could have written it on your own.

I didn't need a better draft that afternoon. I needed to sit with the actual question longer than I wanted to.

Expertise upstream. AI downstream. That's the whole game. IG carousel slide 1: I spent Sunday afternoon trying to get AI to say my offer better than I could say it myself. by @stirlinggardner

The reason five coaches in your niche sound the same isn't a coincidence.

Large language models generate the statistical middle of everything already said in your category. That's not an insult. That's the math.

Every AI-shaped draft you accept without rebuilding it yourself pulls you a little further toward that middle. I call this Expertise Regression. It's not a crash. It's a drift. Small, unannounced, and it feels like productivity the whole time it's happening.

Here's the tell. I call it the Category Substitution Test. Read the message. Swap the name on it for a competitor's. Does it still work? Then it isn't yours yet. It's the category's.

Bring your judgment first, not last. AI is downstream of your expertise. Not upstream.

I think about the version of me that would exist if I let a model finish every one of my thoughts for a year straight. I don't love her. I'm not saying don't use it. I'm saying know which direction it's running. IG carousel slide 1: The reason five coaches in your niche sound the same isn't a coincidence. by @stirlinggardner

You do not have to "hard sell" to enroll high ticket clients.

I am going to tell you how to actually sell your expertise when you hate sales scripts and pushy tactics. I'm about to teach you a method that will feel like relief.

And no, it's not about "just being authentic" or "providing value." You've heard that a hundred times.

The real problem is psychological.

Your nervous system perceives traditional selling as a threat, triggering fight-or-flight.

This makes you freeze, overthink, or resort to tactics that feel inauthentic.

Meanwhile, others with less expertise seem to thrive because they lack your self-awareness, often due to the Dunning-Kruger effect, where less skilled individuals overestimate their abilities.

You, the expert, are stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and avoidance.

First, shift your mindset from "selling" to "communicating your value." You're not convincing; you're sharing. Think like an educator, not a salesperson.

Next, craft your "1-Slide Offer." It's a single, compelling visual framework that articulates the transformation you provide, not just the features.

This taps into emotional justification, which is how high-ticket buyers make decisions. Finally, present this 1-Slide Offer in a conversation, not a monologue.

Ask questions, listen actively, and only present your solution if it genuinely aligns with their needs. This creates a natural dialogue where they feel understood, not pressured.

It's the best thing I have ever found.

Tamarah and I surveyed my list and asked what the #1 thing they would like automated in their business and it was, hands down, social media marketing...
We have had our heads down for the last three months building this out for them.
My offer and messaging IP automatically plugged into their business.
30 days of branded social media content created in under an hour and automatically posted on social.
We sold out our beta in 48 hours. 👀
Now, we onboard and deliver. taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @stirlinggardner
