First photo drop with focus on some old love of mine: architecture, buildings, lines and curves (anyone noticed in the past few days?) as I find myself writing this from the lay-by of a petrol station in the Romanian Wyoming thanks to a duct that decided to burst today in the 23 years of its life inside this car, gifting me with some free time in the middle of nowhere so that I can relook at some pics and make a post out of it.

I lost my dad a couple of months ago and I was listening to @stephen.wilson.jr music on repeat, his #SønOfDad resonated so vividly with me; I could relate to his own experience so much, the sudden loss, the lack of explanation or meaning, last night crying like a baby for half of the concert it was probably the first time I started processing my own loss.

Im rarely an emotional person, even less so one that shows it in public but I guess there are exceptions for everyone; last night’s concert was definitely one of those occasions.

@stephen.wilson.jr is for me one of those musicians you cant really pigeon hole, his mix of country-rock-grunge so personal, that voice, those lips that almost dont move but the sound that comes out..my god.

Thanks @stephen.wilson.jr for last night, thanks for sharing 🙏

Day 10, Agrigento and the Valley Of The Temples.

Last stop of this holiday/journey, and what a finish!

After almost 900km and 8 cities in 10 days, after halving the shrimp population and eating the equivalent of my body weight in ricotta (and, not fully satisfied yet, also trying to bring some back to London, as per last pic), sadly it’s time to go back to the hard, real life - one where I’ll have to go on a diet for a while, most likely.

Thanks Sicily, you’ve been amazing. Arrivederci a presto hopefully 🙏

Day 7-8 Trapani - Erice, le saline [the salt pans], Favignana & Levanzo.

So much Sicily left to see, so little time.

This island is clearly leaving its mark on me, and although Im in what is considered one of the best resorts in the world as Im trying to find the words for this post, I feel like Im wasting time standing still.

Erice is a jewel I almost missed, I must thank the gods of bad weather which made postpone the boat trip. That ceiling in the Duomo..gosh, still cant decide if it works better in colour or in black&white but I stared at it for more than I’d like to admit.

The salt pans with their side business of mosquito farming, the Aegadian islands seen and experienced from a catamaran thanks to 2 beautiful souls who welcomed me on board with their families (grazie ancora @marcus.16m e @cristinamarrac_, love you guys!), the journey towards Sciacca and the above mentioned resort which showed me another breathtaking sunset behind a breathing landscape..could it be any better?
Yes, it could, if only I didn’t have only one more full day to go and the thoughts of catching up with emails weren’t already catching up with me.

1. Trapani historical center
2-3-4-5. Duomo di Erice (double up on ceiling)
6. Le saline (the salt pans)
7. Potentially the largest salt crusted fish in the world
8-9. Three belli guaglioni on a boat and some insanely clear water around Favignana and Levanzo
10. The last scene from The Gladiator or a sunset in Ummari, your choice

Day 5-6 Castellammare del Golfo, San Vito Lo Capo, Riserva dello Zingaro.

E fattela ‘na camminata.

Quite a bit of road in 48h, both on the bike and by walk, but all so worthy, Im loving this island more by the minute.

@riservanaturalezingaro an absolute marvel and an 18km hike that should be done at least once in a lifetime, although my legs and feet might beg to differ this morning.

Upward and onward.

Day 2-3, second photo dump (yesterday a drop, now clearly a dump), last bit of Palermo, first of Cefalù, at this stage more of a personal recap than anything else - not that anyone asked.

Some shapes, some stuff that caught my eye, some more drinks (which usually help my eye catching stuff..), some surreal buildings and finally the almighty sea, that only when I encounter again I remember how much I miss.
