A Thread Through Time

Wonderful work of outsider artist Dhahabu Ngumbau Dadu showing over the weekend at @bellhousedulwich.

Dadu lives in Kenya and cannot read or write but her language is stitch. Completely unschooled and raised in a mud hut on a rural homestead. Dadu came to prominence through a 20 year collaboration with her neighbour & British textile artist @kirstenhecktermann who represents her work.

What a delight to attend the workshop and talk run by @kirstenhecktermann and buy a piece of Dadu’s work!
