Tonight I spoke at a vigil in Schenley Plaza honoring and grieving the martyrs of Falastin. Thank you to all the organizers and everyone who made it happen @sjp_pitt @jvp_pgh
Here is some of the text of my speech: Baruch dayan emet.

Marek Edelman, a resistance fighter under Nazi occupation, famously said that "to be Jewish is to be on the side of the oppressed." He said this before partaking in The Warsaw Ghetto Intifada of 1943, committing to solidarity even when the Jews of Warsaw had been abandoned by their left-wing allies. These are a few examples of the "collateral damage" of Jewish history Zionists have made out of the conflation of Jewish religion and peoplehood with the so-called "Israeli" state.
May remembering our own histories of resistance strengthen our commitment to Palestinian resistance, now. May our ancestors sit beside us during our lamentations. May our descendants be spared from the grief we face.
Understanding the genocide will not contain or soften our grief. Only we can do that for each other, together.
In my position not just as an Antizionist Jew, but also an advocate for Liberation and for Abolition, the refusal of the Zionist conception of history is itself a sacred act. On a day of mourning like this, I want to ground us in potential histories beyond Empire. Our histories are not just stories of suffering, they are also histories of resistance and solidarity. Solidarity with oppressed peoples everywhere is a sacred act. The love and rage we feel for the martyrs of Palestine is sacred, and that love must go somewhere. Where will your love go? Let it go to breaking cycles and changing the story. With G-d's help, let it go to Liberation in Palestine. by @stormbringer_press

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the third annual Pittsburgh Jewish Zine Festival at @mr_roboto_project! We saw our biggest turnout yet and had an absolute blast sharing pickles, art, learning, & DJ Meddyglyn’s ambiance with yinz.

This year, we raised $917 at our merch table to donate to @gazasoupkitchen, over TRIPLE last year’s total. We are so incredibly proud of our steadily growing community and the impact we can make together.

Watch this space; copies of our collaborative zine Atzmeinu (Our Bones) will be going up for online sale very soon.

We have a variety of sizes and colors, screen printed and heat set by yours truly! Come get them at our official merch table and help us raise money for mutual aid in Palestine! We've made less than last year, so be sure and visit while the zines are hot and the pickles are still cold...

We're excited to share the flyer for The Pittsburgh Jewish Zine Fest 5786, coming back to Mr. Roboto on Sunday, August 30th from 1pm-5pm! Join us for an afternoon of radical zines, Jewish ritual objects, local art, mutual aid, and harm reduction supplies, furthering our commitments to solidarity and liberation during the Jewish month of Elul. All the profits from our official merch table are going towards @gazasoupkitchen , supporting food access in Gaza amidst the ruins of the so-called "ceasefire".
Why 5786? In the Jewish calendar we are in the year 5786 Year of Creation. As radical, queer and Antizionist Jews for Liberation, we find it important to center sacred time over that Capitalist time that rules our bodies.

A Blessing Before a Dyke March:
We're not here for equality,
but Liberation.
We march for solidarity,
to pray with our feet, and
put commitments to action.
We march for our ancestors,
finding joy in the world they bled for.
Every dyke, trannie and freak beaten
or jailed by The State is my comrade.
Every queer killed for their identity
is my sibling, their loss my own.
Will we be mere allies,
or accomplices to their memory?
We march knowing our liberation is bound
up in each other.
We march not merely as friends, but lovers.
Where do we belong, love?
WE BELONG TO THE FUTURE!
Let us make ourselves holy, and live
like that better world is here for the taking!

Save the date: the third PITTSBURGH JEWISH ZINE FEST will be 1-5pm on Sunday, August 30th! In the next few weeks we'll send out calls to come distro, table zines and share how you can get involved in bringing our celebration of Jewish diasporic culture and radical politics to fruition!

We had a blast last year. We're hoping to step our game up, so follow us and watch out for details on what we're hoping to create together at the gracious @mr_roboto_project, raising money for Palestinian mutual aid and working to raise consciousness against injustice everywhere.
