Wakita Sep 19 26'.

This morning looking at these photos I find myself reminding myself why it is worth every second of traveling so far. Friendship is one of those things that matters, and is hard to come by this day and age. I personally want to extend a major thankyou / shout out to @twister_fanatics , @stormofpassionig , @rocko.taco64 @briscoe_garcia , and the Twister Museum (Mrs Linda!) for the amazing memories from this event as well as the chaser community. Even got a side of storm chase in while there afterwards around Wakita! This little town has a special place with me because of the memories and friendships. I will make sure to come back again someday!

About @stormchasermaciwx :
Good afternoon, I am a "professional" storm chaser and degree'd meteorologist inspired by both this wonderful chase community and by a 90s film known as Twister 🌪️ 1996. Over 20 years has contributed to my experience in the field including the 2011 Superoutbreak, Moore 2013, and Hurricane Katrina. As a licensed ham radio operator, and advanced SKYWARN certified on the side, I often do directly communicate with the National Weather Service to provide early severe weather warning.

Each storm tacking event is planned usually a week in advance using cutting edge technology, data modeling, and advanced forecasting techniques. Footage seen here is all from successful forecasts, and subsequent field work. None of it is Ai generated.

While stationed primarily in College Station Texas where I earned my degree, I ultimately pursued this passion to chase, made it my profession, and so can you. Never Stop Chasing! 🌪️😊

Severe thunderstorm landscape photography. Had to drop some August storm pix. 📸

Little life update: It has been a little bit since last post. Recently I have been real busy in the off season continuing the build with new Twister inspired Honda civic (my daily & chase car.) The other night found this little storm a real refresh, did a bit of storm tracking, and am working with a newer camera. Here's how the editing turned out. Feel free to keep these two as wallpapers; these two are for ya'll! What do you all think of these?

Mammatus clouds montage because why not?

About Mammatus clouds: They form when cold downdrafts in a severe thunderstorm accelerate outward to below freezing and form ice crystals. These small ice crystals are then seen as a pillow-like display, usually 40,000 feet or more in the atmosphere where temperatures are below freezing. They are my favorite, and come in many colors depending on where the sun is, or how many crystals there are.

What if I told you 20 years ago I had a dream?

That was a dream I decided to make reality, to work hard for. The moments of each storm tracking event reflect on this dream: to find nature's beauty even when challenged. That means miles of dedication, effort, countless hours, and determination not always seen on camera. There was a time I struggled to believe in myself before starting to chase years ago, or if I could trust myself to be successful. I have discovered that even when in doubt of my own forecasting, I still pushed the boundaries. The point is, if I can be successful, so can you. Never stop chasing your dreams. 🌪️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Effingham, Illinois tornado in full force! 🌪️

Tornadoes are Earth's most violent and destructive storms. On June 17th, a rather strong tornado produced by its parent supercell moved through Effingham causing significant damage to surrounding communities. This individual tornado was part of a tornado outbreak surrounding a strong cold front. Here is a look at the storm as it happened.

SWIPE👉🏻 for video: Streator Illinois storm tracking, and how that went last evening. 🌪️

Forecasting this event took much thought with all the remaining outflow boundaries from storms the previous evening even with ample wind shear. While I was expecting multiple well defined tornadoes, I did not expect how severe the damage from last night's tornado would be in Streator. A whole neighborhood was leveled, and was certainly hard for me witness. Good news is nobody was significantly hurt and ample warning came! Here's the parent supercell in various stages that spawned this wedge tornado from last evening.

"Going green!" except now it is Cadillac edition out of Amarillo. Thought this would be a neat location to do storm photography at hence this location carries some fame to it and there so happened to be this photogenic severe storm over the area. Tripod kept getting knocked over by Amarillo's famous wind so I went and did it the handheld method route with the big camera. Long story short: three months later have a stronger tripod for storm photography.

Swipe >>> The sky at night will occasionally glow ⚡️ better than it does during the day.
Here's what happens when a cold front triggers a mesoscale convective system, and produces severe weather. This incredible leading shelf cloud was caught moving through College Station just after 8pm. The bow echo MCS was warned for 80 mile an hour gusts by the @nws and certainly put on the light show. Let me know what ya'll think of this one!

Swipe >>> "Not all treasure is silver and gold." This is what treasure looks like in my eyes: the sky when it starts to form these incredible storm structures. To witness nature in action even at its most intense is a special thing.

A substantial amount of time and effort into storm tracking took place over two days. A week in advance, the forecast; A triple point atmospheric boundary convergence followed by a subsequent surface low and cold front triggered this long-track supercell right at 6pm over Hillsboro, Texas. The actual day of April 28th, a moderate risk level 4/5 day. Here is how it looked from my POV, notice how large the supercell is in comparison to the house nearby as reference. The entire time while tracking was in direct contact with the @nws and wound up radioing in a wall cloud to them. The decision was made after this storm cycled multiple times and therefore went tornado 🌪️ warned.

A visit to Oklahoma's signature little town Wakita. Met the owner of the movie museum Mrs. Linda come to find out 4 actors are attending the 30th anniversary; I will keep those names a secret for the time being. She talked with me about the recent tornado that missed Wakita a few weeks back, and did share some stories about how the film was shot. While here had to do a photoshoot in front of the tower with Dorthy 2, my own vehicle to remember by, as well as brought a vintage style shirt home to keep. I am a hard 90s inspired generation type storm chaser, actually activated the official Dorothy I just to share with you all, & can quote Twister 🌪️ (drop your favorite twister movie quote.)
I will be back for the anniversary celebration!
