⁡ 日本の䌝統に根付いた玠材お゙ある「藁」に着目し、培われれおきた技法を取り入れながら、衣服、家具やモニュメントなず゙倚様な䜜品を制䜜するStraft。 ⁡ 本展お゙は、これたお゙制䜜された代衚的な䜜品を展瀺するず共に、オリジナルの「しめ食り」の展瀺販売を行いたす。叀来から神聖な堎所を瀺すために甚いられた「しめ瞄」から掟生した「しめ食り」は、歳神様を迎え入れる目印お゙あり、その幎の収穫に察する感謝、来る幎ぞの期埅ず祈りが蟌められおきたした。藁が日垞お゙は身近な玠材お゙はなくなった珟代にも残る、幎末幎始ずいう節目を食るこの颚習を尊び、新たな「祈りのかたち」ずしお生たれた䜜品が䞊びたす。 ⁡ ※本展はGalleryお゙開催䞭のMatters内及び、初公開ずなる別棟”Cove”2階お゙の展瀺ずなりたす。 ⁡ Focusing on “straw,” a material deeply rooted in Japanese tradition, Straft creates a diverse range of works including clothing, furniture, and monuments by incorporating time-honored techniques. ⁡ This exhibition showcases Straft’s representative works alongside a display and sale of original shimekazari decorations. Derived from shimenawa, which were traditionally used to signify sacred spaces, shimekazari serve as markers for welcoming Toshigami-sama (New Year’s deity). These decorations express gratitude for the year’s harvest and carry hopes and prayers for the coming year. These works honor the Japanese tradition of adorning the year-end and New Year transition, a custom that persists even in modern times when straw is no longer a familiar material in daily life. . 「日本人の暮らしを支えおきた藁の研究」 䜜品名:藁衣 研究抂芁 　日本の䞻食ずされる米からは、副産物ずしおワラずいうものが採れる。ワラは茅葺の屋根、蓑、草鞋、俵になる。さたざたに圢を倉え、昔の日本人の暮らしを支えおきた。 珟代は、機械によっお同じものが倧量に量産される。それに察しおワラ道具は、手䜜りお゙あり、自然玠材から倚岐にわたる生掻領域に掻甚・展開がされおきた。 このワラの造圢文化が倧量生産倧量消費の時代に、極めお異質な存圚に思え、興味を抱き、ワラを通しお日本の文化を孊ぼうず考えた。 　背景にある皲䜜文化から , ワラ文化を玐解き、ワラ道具ずいうものを明らかにし、日本文化を孊ぶこずが本研究の目的お゙ある。 　本研究の成果ずしお、日本の人びずが助け合い、自然資源ず展開しおきたワラ文化の姿を読み取った。珟代の倧量生産が行われる工業補品の文化にはない、埪環䜓系を圓たり前のように具備し、人びずが手お゙もの぀゙くりをする。豊かなワラの文化の普遍的䟡倀を探究した。 Research topic: Study of Straw, which have supported Japanese life. Old Japanese used to get straw as a by-product of cultivating rice-which is a staple food in the Japanese diet. That is a raw material for Japanese thatched roof, Mino (which is Japanese old-style raincoat), straw sandals and Tawara (which is a cylindrical bag. It is used for transporting rice, charcoal and so on.). Straw had supported old Japanese with changing that shape in various ways for a long time.‹ Today is the age of mass production. However, straw tools, which I mentioned before are things of the previous era when people made something necessary for them by hand and used natural materials. This Straw Culture seemed unique to me living in the era of mass production and consumption, and it makes me interested. The main purpose of this research is to understand Japanese culture through studying what Straw Culture and straw tools are. As a result of this research, I can detect the true form of the culture that they effectively utilized natural resources and helped each other. They adopted a recycling-oriented society that does not exist in modern world and were making handmade things. I searched for the universal value of profound Straw Culture. K by @straft__

Particiating Works: EGG BED - Straft (@straft__ ) A small bed of rice straw where an egg can rest. Rooted in the tradition of straw craft that developed alongside rice cultivation in Japan, the work takes as its starting point a form that emerged by chance through touching the material and working by hand.
