Completed a few weeks ago, the interior design of Wasui Flagship Rotterdam (@wasui_official ), a matcha café in the heart of Rotterdam. We designed the space as well as the porcelain pieces used and sold at the café. The space also features a straw craft piece by @straft__ complementing the interior design. Together, these elements create a space that is precise yet warm and approachable, rooted in Japanese culture while conceived for contemporary life Photo 1,2,3,5,7,8,9,10 @tomuimi106

Particiating Works: HOUKI MADO - Straft (@straft__ ) Four brooms are bound together to form a small window at the center. The spreading bristles and the tension of the bound sections frame this small opening. A broom is an everyday tool used to put a place in order. Here, its form and presence begin to shape the surrounding space. What might appear within this small window created by an everyday tool?

Particiating Works: EGG BED - Straft (@straft__ ) A small bed of rice straw where an egg can rest. Rooted in the tradition of straw craft that developed alongside rice cultivation in Japan, the work takes as its starting point a form that emerged by chance through touching the material and working by hand. Straw, long used in daily life to wrap, carry, and protect objects, gently cradles the fragile egg. —— Exhibition ‘Lean On’ Presented by Huis Saai 📍at ArtSpace AUTO VITESSE Voorterweg 128, 5611 TS Eindhoven, Netherlands 🏃During @dutchdesignweek October 17 (Sat) – 25 (Sun), 11AM to 6PM *Opening Party: October 17(Sat) #ddw #ddw26 #dutchdesignweek #dutchdesignweek2026

⁡ 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁/𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 Project for private client Location: Tokyo Year: 2025 - This spatial design began with a request to install Straft’s work 𝘛𝘖𝘙𝘐 in the courtyard of an office space in Tokyo. Enclosed by glass doors and filled with natural light from above, the space was conceived as a quiet, altar-like setting in which 𝘛𝘖𝘙𝘐 would be enshrined. ⁡ In response to a request to introduce a flow of water into the space, a self-contained stream system was installed and covered in plaster. By integrating it into the wall behind 𝘛𝘖𝘙𝘐, water appears to spring from beneath the work, forming a narrow stream that runs through the space… … ⁡ Read the full article / 記事全文： https://www.vacant.vc/page/works/wherelightandwaterfall ⁡ ⁡ ⁡ #Vacant_Works

Udstillingen ‘Connected - A Dialogue Between Nature and Craft’ hos @gallerisonja under 3 Days of Design var så smuk at gå på opdagelse i 🤍 Jeg er vild med at mange af de udstillede værker er fundne, naturlige elementer fra øen Bornholm. Så pænt kurateret af @normarchitects.
