Because your taste isn’t refined, it’s just what you can still afford. You probably have a degree, maybe two, and worked jobs beneath that education while being told it was “character building”.
Discontent is not your mothers magazine. It is built for the people watching less qualified people advance because they could afford unpaid internships and uncompensated “exposure”. It wasn’t fun to make. It was messy, and often painful—like finding out that R-Kelly is a paedo or cluster headache. There is no champagne in publishing. We are just monetizing passion until we dream about being baggage handlers.

But creation is a necessity to life, and without it we fade into obscurity long before we die. Help us help you. Read it cover-to-cover, use it as a conversation starter in your corporate office, or use it as toilet-paper. It doesn’t matter. Just be kind enough to shout it as loud as you can because the only thing we fear is going back to a life of petty crime.

Just like the compromises in taste that you reframe as deliberate rebellion..discontent exists. The printed copies are real, Were Just waiting for the refurbishment of our website which is currently down but will be up again in a day or 3 , and finally you can enjoy the intellectual vitriol that shopify wouldn’t allow us to publish on the new discontent website and more importantly, no more international shipping pains.
