I'm very sensitive about rave pics but the unexpected light ray through rain during Farplane's set was irrestistable and I'm posting it here as a symbol of my gratitude to: System Activate organizers, audience, and volunteers including but not limited to @octoocta @erisdrew @faited.fdotf @beets.bi.blaire; @sarahbraunhamilton and @lamanyana for being my Vermont chosen-family welcome wagon (and Esbey - rave copilot), and especially @glorbis and @lexciya_ for the encouragement to go do this plus Chicago jams + Gramaphone pilgrimage en route. 🔊 💛 thank you 💛 by @strategypaul

This week we want to highlight all of the musical talent performing at our fundraiser for the Leach Botanical Garden, and today we’ll highlight the duo Foote / Dickow.

Brian Foote and Paul Dickow are fellow musicians and friends that go back decades. In the early 2000s they countered Portland’s identity as an indie rock city with the left field electronic group Nudge. They developed this further with their solo projects Leech and Strategy, as well as managing a slew of notable record labels (Community Library, Peak Oil, FO, False Aralia.) Taking this wealth of knowledge and history together, their new project Foote / Dickow features them at the apex of their talents.

This project has never performed live before, and will build upon the sound they made with their debut LP High Cube on @geographicnorth !

Tickets are SOLD OUT, see you there🌲🔊 taken in Leach Botanical Garden by @strategypaul

Back in 2024 David and I had the opportunity to interpret Marc Fischer's beautiful graphic scores in performance at Oregon Contemporary. We landed on a "low/no subjectivity" interpretive approach involving a huge printout of the score, chalk, piezos, a brainwave-to-midi interface, Audiomulch, and David's EML synth, "Tobor." Bill and Chris from Critique of Everyday Life helped us craft this into a bigger recording project. So grateful to all involved. This is up for preorder on Bandcamp and Soundohm. by @strategypaul
