Whether your child is prepping for their first tournament or wants to build on their previous competition experience, this is the class for them.

After a decade of training at Stronger BJJ, both Art and Devon have been awarded their black belts.

Huge congratulations to you both, you’ve been absolute mainstays on the mats over so many years, from the early days when the gym first opened, competing at prestigious events, being incredible training partners and being at the heart of our community.

Thank you to Marcos for overseeing their black belt graduations, and to all the coaches and training partners over the years and to Bruno their first coach and particularly to Oliver Geddes who had supported their growth all the way to brown belt. The Stronger family wishes you both success on and off the mats for many years to come. by @strongermma

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported our BJJ Open Mat Rolling Disco in memory of Oli Geddes on the 30th August.

A massive thank you as well to all the gyms that have supported the fundraising cause over the past month. Over £1000 has been raised in support of the @olivergeddesfoundation .

Please join us at our BJJ Open Mat Rolling Disco on Sunday 30th August to help raise funds for the @olivergeddesfoundation.

We’re hosting an open mat on what would have been Oli’s birthday weekend. Our former head coach Oliver Geddes passed away last year from bowel cancer, and the foundation was created to support martial arts gyms and students who need it most during difficult times.

Today marks one year since the passing of our former head coach and friend, Oli Geddes.

Oli’s impact on the jiu-jitsu community was profound. An active competitor in major tournaments across the globe and a referee at internationally recognised events, he dedicated endless time to our gym and his affiliate schools in the UK and abroad. No matter how busy he was, Oli always made time for people. He took genuine joy in passing on his knowledge and seeing others benefit, whether they were aiming for podiums or simply showing up to train.

His knowledge, passion, and inclusivity left a mark on all of us, that we aspire to.

Tonight, members will come together on the mats to remember Oli with a few words, a minute’s silence, and a round of applause to celebrate his life and everything he gave to us.

Our thoughts today are also with his family, Nadine, and his closest friends.

Last Friday, our BJJ community gathered at our gym in South Wimbledon for a meaningful adults grading, celebrating a group of our members as they advanced to blue, purple, and brown belts. It was great to see the mats filled with a mix of our longest-serving members alongside those who have only recently joined the team.

This grading carried a deep significance for us, marking our first since the passing of our former head coach, Oliver Geddes @olivergeddes ,last summer. The foundation he built for this gym continues to guide and shape those that step onto the mats.

Our growth as a team is a direct reflection of the dedication of our coaches. A sincere thank you to our head coach, Marcos @marcosmacedobjj and to coach Sam @sam_berrow for their continued support and guidance. We also owe a great deal of gratitude to coaches James @jamespobjoy , Vinicius @pennabjj , Olivia @riddle2002 ,and Alice @alicegalliari ,who have each taken on a weekly class to ensure our students have continuous support and development. And of course to the many other members who have stepped in when asked. Thank you!

Most importantly, thank you to all of our members for showing up, supporting one another, and pushing each other forward. It was a proud and memorable day for our gym.
