Second, a heartfelt thanks to all the good folks who helped make this happen.

@hubcitybarbellclub graciously let us use their awesome venue and equipment, and lent some serious muscle for spotting and loading.
@_shelbyguy , my beautiful wife, has supported me, helped and advised, and took these awesome photos.
@official_foshee went out of his way to help with spotting all day long
@nolegnoprob loaned my his experience and knowledge, and helped with judging the events.
@charliestrophyshop generously provided outstanding trophies for the podium finishers
@seaton_hixson and the crew at Five Star Nutrition of central Hattiesburg provided such cool prizes and rewards for our podium finishers
@soprobrewco donated gift cards to the winners of each class
@g_carter99 helped with graphics and flyers for the event
And lastly all the excellent athletes who signed up and participated.

The funds raised from this event has pushed StrongForStrays lifetime donations to Hub City Humane Society to over $750 dollars!

More events to come in the future. In the meantime, share with your friends, drop a like, comment what you think the next event should be, and donate to @hubcityhumanesociety to make a difference today.

Because you can.

Strength is not linear? What the [f] is he talking about?

Unless your journey with strength is just really short, it’s not going to be a straight upward line. It may start off that way if you’re genetically gifted, a hard grinder, have a great coach, or all of the above, but if you train for any real length of time there will be hills and valleys. There will be great days you feel like a million dollars and you punch in a new PR multiple times in a week. There will be weeks where you’re just coming in to check the boxes. Life happens. You get sick. You get injured. You just can’t collect the drive under the bar for some reason.

But when those down weeks come, it’s important to zoom out. Maybe this week is a down week, but if the graph is still trending upward, the work is working. If this bad week is still better and stronger than the bad week you had two months ago, guess what? You’ve gotten bigger and stronger.

So don’t stop grinding when it’s hard. Don’t quit on a down week. Keep checking the boxes. Keep trying hard. I’ve had 3 consecutive log sessions - almost a month - where I got done what I considered the bare minimum and wasn’t impressed with my own performance.

The payout for marrying myself to that bare minimum expectation - a happy little rep PR.

I’m on the #roadto400 . Believe it.

Thanks to @justinboleware for hanging around to help keep me locked in.

We - every one of us - is a part of this world. Every living human being, creature, plant and bug is a part of this world. So while I understand and appreciate the statement “you can’t change the world, but you can for one person”, I reject that statement.

When you change someone’s world, you ARE changing THE world.

Give blood. Adopt a cat. Donate food to the shelter. Volunteer to walk a dog. Help that little old lady cross the street and lend a dollar to the guy who had a little less change than he thought at the checkout line. Donate a toy to a child whose Christmas otherwise won’t go to plan.

When you do a good deed, it DOES change the world. The world YOU live in. Do you want that world to be filled with brightness, kindness, and strength? Get it started. by @strongforstrays

It wouldn’t be strong for strays if I didn’t feed my strays.

Bench moving good. Another 5RM PR could signal another bump on the top end in a few weeks. Stay tuned.

14,770 lbs of volume today, up from 13,790 last week.

Absolutely brutally tired, but I’m going to have a cool deadlift one day regardless of what it takes.

Gotta love when you’re just presented proof positive your efforts are working.

Last week’s set speed was significantly slower with the last rep being a grind. This week was essentially a bounce castle.
