In my studio today furthering this glass commission with screen printed vitreous enamel. I love making my stained painted and leaded work but it's also rewarding to work differently sometimes and this piece, although less than a square metre across, is requiring a lot of care, time and attention - so it's good to see the piece coming together now. I've also been thinking about exploring more work like this outside of the commission process, we'll see? And thank you @jessicathornceramics for your encouraging words today! #glass #architecturalglass #screenprint #printonglass #kilnfired #constructed #bristol #artist #maker #stuartlow by @stuart_low

Visiting a friend tonight I had the chance to take a couple of shots of a project I designed and made for the window above his front door some time ago.... #commission #fanlight #window #house #frontofhouse #home #glass #circlesincircles #vitreousenamel #screenprintonglass #screenprint #print #contemporaryglass #artglass #constructed #layered #kilnfired #nightglow #colouredglass #architecturalglass #madetomeasure #bristol #artist #maker #bristolmaker #stuartlow by @stuart_low

Nice to be in my studio today, it's been a very difficult year in my life which continues to be full of uncertainty and I've not felt able to make work. I'm gradually feeling into the idea of returning and am happy to go slowly for now. Good things have also happened this year, I'm helped by constants ie my children and work and social connection and I'm grateful to all the friends who have been there along the way. x by @stuart_low

I was out last week on a glass tour in Bristol with my old college, now Seansea Stained Glass Apprenticeship scheme, colleagues from @holywellglass and friends. We stopped to take in this one I made 17 years ago with Derix Studios, all antique flash glass, etching and enamels and it was nice to see it looking as fresh as the day it was installed (unlike me 😄) @glass_swansea_college_of_art @christianpryan @derixglasstudios by @stuart_low

One of the first windows I ever made at college back in 1990 at Swansea. The lower section of a larger design. This panel remains in the college collection, forming an archive of some 700 works. The photo was kindly sent to me this week by Dr Martin Crampin who has been documenting these panels for the Swansea stained glass archive along with Christian Ryan. Nice to touch base with the past! www.martincrampin.co.uk @christianpryan by @stuart_low
