Away from punishment; towards transformative and restorative justice. Let's unlearn and learn together! 🤝⭐️

DP101: (Un)learning the death penalty: Last Saturday, about 20 students gathered to attend a classroom built on questions, not answers.

From the stories we heard, to the policies that shape our lives, we came together to ask: what have we been taught about the death penalty — and what have we never been told?

Through group discussions, storytelling, and critical conversation, the students re-imagined what justice could look like. This is what (un)learning means.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with curiosity, courage, and compassion. The death penalty is carried out in all of our names. Let’s keep asking if we want it to stay that way. 🫵

Stay tuned for our next workshop! 🤝

10 October is World Day Against The Death Penalty.

So we asked some kids about what they think about the death penalty.

Children are the moral compass of our society.

They also bear the consequences of our choices.

If they know to reject killing, shouldn’t we too?

🧐 Imagine the perfect employee. Doesn't eat, doesn't sleep, never asks why.

We here at Singapore Prison Service are proud to introduce: PROTECT, A 510 kg, 157CM hunk of metal with a five-metre pepper spray range! It is currently undergoing three-month "probation" and coming to a prison near you! The duties are: patrol, watch, stream whatever the cameras missed.

Feeling concerned, or distressed, about the state's increasing methods of state surveillance?

👉 Join us tomorrow at World Day Against the Death Penalty, where we'll hold grief together — for the lives taken by the state, and for the persecution of our citizens.
