10 October is World Day Against The Death Penalty.

So we asked some kids about what they think about the death penalty.

Children are the moral compass of our society.

They also bear the consequences of our choices.

If they know to reject killing, shouldn’t we too?

Missed court today and feeling FOMO? We’ve got you!

SATU’s Mel reports on the highlights from Day 1 of Koki’s POFMA trial.

If you'd like to attend the trial, which is open to the public, it will take place at State Courts, Court 24A, from 9.30am to 5pm. Koki will be taking the stand tomorrow.

Then, in the evening, join us for another Picnic Against POFMA, from 6pm to 8pm! Because of the haze, we’ve moved the Picnic to The Arts and Civil Space (CT Hub, 2 Kallang Ave, 03-16), so do let your friends know if they were planning to head down to Hong Lim Park!

If you’re busy on the weekdays, we’ll see you on Saturday at our vigil for World Day Against the Death Penalty: 10 October, 3pm to 5pm at Filmhouse. Get your tickets at the link in bio or tinyurl.com/WorldDay2026

Back in 2024, a PhD student took photos of Students for Palestine's letter delivery in 2024 to the Ministry of Home Affairs, opposing the Maintenance of Racial Harmony Act (MRHA). This year, the Singapore government deported the student in April, and put the MRHA into effect in September.

Throughout their time in Singapore, despite the precarious position they hold with a student visa, they never hesitated to speak out on issues from the genocide in Palestine, to climate crises in the region, and civil repression in Singapore.

Despite their traumatising encounter with Singapore's bureaucratic state violence, they wish for their story not to be remembered as a warning to others, but as a glimpse into the possibilities of resistance available to us as we express unyielding solidarity with people across the world.

Borders cannot kill a global struggle. If anything, the heightened oppression presents more opportunities to highlight the contradictions in the state's claims vs actions.

Free Palestine. Free us all.

The struggle continues, here and across the world. See you over the next three days for Singapore's first ever trial challenging POFMA, and to engage in collective grief and protest on World Day Against the Death Penalty on 10 October. More details on @allianceagainstdeathpenalty.sg.
