Right from the start when I was making shells out of polymere clay and with every sale I was saving to get more tools and materials, slowly but surely I now make all my pieces in recycled metals and repurposed stones. Along with that came this incredible community that look out for me and support me and I’m so grateful for that. The kind message over the past few days are so incredibly thoughtful. I’m not much of a planner, I’ve never really sat at my desk and thought “right, I’m gonna make this”. In my free time I spend it surrounded by the things I’m inspired by, walks in the countryside or a by the sea. I pride myself on being able to show the process of my work from the moment I start with a lump of jewellers wax to the final product, attaching stud posts / resizing and polishing. My designs really do come organically to me because they align so much with my lifestyle and I hope that comes across in my creations ✨ taken in Worbarrow Bay Tyneham by @studio.ginkgo_

A year ago today, I found out about sweet baby Maple.

That day was just us wandering around the woods with a tiny secret I was only just beginning to know.

I had no idea who was coming. no idea what they’d look like, what they’d be like, or just how much they’d change our little world.

Now they’re here, and somehow they are so much more Maple than anything I could have imagined. My beautiful little bug.

Funny how some days feel so ordinary while you’re living them, only to realise later they were the beginning of everything. by @studio.ginkgo_

Two months of Maple.

Nine weeks in and it’s already a blur in the best way, long summer evenings, the big kids busy doing what big kids do and this tiny third baby soaking it all up in the middle of the chaos.

Yesterday we stood in the garden and watched the light go strange and gold for a few minutes during the eclipse. A nice reminder to slow down and look up, even with three kids underfoot.

Two months in and smells like sweet milk and the inside of this house. Still can’t get over my tiny Maple moon. by @studio.ginkgo_

Ok. It’s here. The big birthday beach sandwich, the one you’ve all apparently been waiting for since I posted that one picture and lost my mind over the notifications. (viral to me. in my group chat. that counts.) just for you. But for real, this thing was the whole event of my birthday with a filling situation I genuinely think about while falling asleep.

Yesterday marked 4 weeks of Maple and 35 years of me. We skipped school and nursery, took a boat to a little island and ate a big sandwich. Dipping tiny toes in the sea before making our way back home (see last slide for golden hour babe)

My sweet, funny baby Cove is no longer a baby! We celebrated with a 90’s style Toy Story party. Everything found on Vinted. There was cereal for breakfast and pizza planet for lunch and blue banana milkshakes with white chocolate clouds for after seeing Toy Story 5 at the cinema. by @studio.ginkgo_

Eleven days earthside and still no name. people kept asking. we kept not knowing. so we made a hat, filled it with our favourites, and handed the decision to the only person it really belonged to. Tiny hands making a big decision, baby chose Maple. Just like that it was settled. Like they’d always known.

Maple or Mori or something else, we haven’t decided yet. The desert, the coast and the forest. Born at home yesterday at 10am, the same hour as Vegas and Cove. After 5 long days of back labour, with Cove by my side, my second en caul baby, my first baby born to the rain.
