shared my album ☆ Wash My Pain Away ☆ half a year ago and going on tour with it so so soon!!

WMPA was recorded @studio_cimetiere by Mike (@hilotrons ) who produced it and played guitar, bass, keys and synth on it as well. Adam (@adambradleyschreiber ) who did the drum magic remote 'cause of the snowstorm. Sara (@counterglance ) joined a few days to capture the process visually. and we were able to dive into the whole recording fully because Erin (@strawberrykiller ) provided us with the best meals during these cold, snowy weeks.

still couldn't be happier with how it all went and turned out. and now so looking forward to share these songs live again at the upcoming shows. hopefully see you on tourrrrrrrrrrr 🐌 by @studio_cimetiere

Happy release day to @kacyleeanderson , who puts out her first-ever solo single today, alongside the announcement of a new album coming Oct 23 🫢🤓
I had the immeasurable pleasure of playing and co-engineering/mixing alongside Kacy, our shining-light producer Michael John Dubue @hilotrons our rock Erin @strawberrykiller , and the queen of Quyon, Rosie. Tbh I couldn’t be prouder of the work we did together at Mike’s amazing studio @studio_cimetiere and then a little more back at @thesecretbeachstudio . Also some of the first music mixed through the new Neve board 👀👀👀
Kacy and Mike are both comedic geniuses, so it’s remarkable that we managed to settle down long enough to record some serious music.
Also so cool to see the release courtesy of ever-sick label @earthlibraries ,who can’t seem to stop putting out great music.
Last slide is actual footage of us recording the new track!!
I’ll try to contain my excitement about the rest of the album and stop typing now. Go check out “Giving In”. by @studio_cimetiere

Taylor listened to and loved improvisation in music. He wanted to deconstruct Timber Timbre into a free jazz improv Krautrock situation where the focus was to fully improvise and through-compose the music in one take, using lo-fi and atmospheric recording techniques and apply further crunchy tape processing while utilizing my Russian stereo tape echo in the mix.
And so we did.
And we called the series "Interview".
As a trio with Taylor on bass, Adam Bradley Schreiber on drums/perc and me on Rhodes/organ, we made the first recording of the series in Cabo, Mexico on a recording residency at Hotel El Ganzo in 2023. Later on, we overdubbed Linsey Wellman on bari sax and flutes.
We made the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth installments of the "Interview" series at Studio Cimetière live off the floor in January 2025 and added further personnel with @foundlingsounds on harp and @filmotone on the Aprehension Engine (!!!), along with Taylor, Adam, Linsey and myself in our previous roles. Erin Flynn took good care of us during those sessions, catering beautiful meals and held down morale.
Taylor wanted this series to keep developing and to keep going.
We felt boundless and free with stacks of ideas on where to take things. There was little concern for final presentation of the music, beyond @linda_meli design and artwork. Linda's aesthetic was crucial to the sound of the music and she was editing found footage with Taylor for videos to come. Having her there for all of the tracking made the whole thing richer and dynamic.
And then, there was even less concern about ears falling off or on this body of work.
Taylor was a true genius who grappled with the deceptions of the music industry, defied it's deep structural challenges and vanity and fought hard against it's stagnant and unpleasant state.
All of that is clearly reflected within his entire body of work and the "Interview" series is a postcard from a discerning roamer. taken in Quyon, Quebec by @studio_cimetiere
