The lighting design for CADAR’s new store in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District was developed around the jewelry designer’s vision of creating an immersive CADAR world + one in which nature, an essential presence in her designs, extends into the architecture and lighting of the space. Custom chandeliers incorporating birds and feathers introduce natural motifs overhead, while the jewelry cases are conceived as tree-like columns, transforming the interior into an abstract landscape where each piece is gradually discovered and experienced. This narrative continues into the Gold Room, an intimate space dedicated to private sales, where warm, enveloping illumination creates a more exclusive and personal atmosphere. Even the bathroom becomes part of the experience, carrying the client’s nature-inspired concept through carefully integrated materials, decorative elements, and lighting. Together, these spaces create a cohesive and immersive environment that expresses the distinctive character of the CADAR brand. A two-level program designed around distinct experiences: the cellar serves as an intimate event space, while the ground floor houses the main store and a private sales room. For CADAR, completed in 2025 in New York City’s Meatpacking District, Studio Atomic designed the lighting throughout both levels, with a particular focus on the team’s desire to highlight the art and collectible pieces that define the space. The lighting was carefully integrated to bring attention to key works, including the chandelier designed by Sebastián Errázuriz and a chandelier by Maximiliano Marchesani, allowing each piece to become an integral part of the store’s experience. Three private gardens, each on a different level and facing the city from a unique perspective, with a distinct landscape design and lighting approach.
