The new headquarters for the EMATM Foundation transforms a former printing facility in New York into a space dedicated to preserving, researching, exhibiting, and protecting the artistic legacies of Emily Mason and Alice Trumbull Mason.
Designed to accommodate exhibition spaces, archives, offices, workshops, and climate-controlled art storage, the project balances the building’s industrial character with carefully considered interventions that support the Foundation’s mission today and into the future.

Introducing the new headquarters of the EMATM Foundation, a former printing facility in New York transformed into a space dedicated to preserving, researching, exhibiting, and celebrating the artistic legacies of Emily Mason and Alice Trumbull Mason.

Designed to support the Foundation’s evolving needs from archives and exhibitions to offices, workshops, climate-controlled art storage, the project balances the building’s industrial character with carefully considered interventions, creating a flexible environment for both daily operations and the long-term stewardship of its collection.

Head Hi 2026!

What a way to kick off NYCxDESIGN this year. In an industry that often only celebrates individual achievement, it has been so refreshing to be welcomed into the Head Hi Lamper Community (with a capital C!) and share the space with both former students and new design friends.

We are so grateful to Alvaro & Alexandra for establishing, nurturing and growing this Community of makers. Hats off to @headhi_ny @alexandra.hodkowski @moscouno and @super___house for an amazing show that definitively set the bar Head Hi!

I didn’t expect two pieces of bread with something in between could actually make me a better person. A panino that changed my life. A simple pasta that feels like foreplay. Aperitivos before and after the feast (actually any time of the day) made me briefly forget that I don’t drink anymore. And, of course, 14 scoops of pistachio gelato in three days.

Milano you make me fat but happy.

In praise of the semicolon
Three installations, one language.

At Salone del Mobile.Milano, Dooor stages space as performance.

At Alcova, it reduces it to a minimal gesture — a threshold that suggests rather than separates.

At Archiproducts Milano, it becomes a sensory experience, shaped by material, colour and perception.

Three ways of inhabiting the same idea:
the door not as a full stop, but as a sign that connects.

2026 Head Hi Lamp Show 💡
May 8th. & 9th. NYC

Head Hi is pleased to announce the date & participants of the upcoming Head Hi Lamp Show. The 6th edition, which received hundreds of international submissions in its open call, will be held at BOOM at The Standard, High Line —a legendary cultural site and part of New York City’s late-night lore—from May 8-9, 2026, a kick-off just before the NYCxDESIGN Festival.

Since its inception in 2019, the Head Hi Lamp Show has become a global platform for collective imagination, participation, and experimentation with light, design, and materials now occurring biennially (every two years) and organized by Head Hi founders—curator Alexandra Hodkowski and artist Alvaro Alcocer.
For the first time ever, Head Hi invited a curatorial collaborator, founder of NY design gallery Superhouse Stephen Markos, to participate in the selection.

Keeping true to the organization’s ability to showcase newness in their experiential programs, Alexandra and Alvaro have carefully selected the BOOM at The Standard, High Line for the exhibition / happening.

Join us for breathtaking views of New York City and a lively opening Friday, May 8, 7-11pm featuring music by Head Hi friends, musicians & DJs and musicians 🎵 high above Manhattan all lit up ⚡️

Next day, Saturday May 9th viewing 12:00pm-10:00pm.

Music ~ sundown to 10pm
