I had such a nice time as a visiting concertmaster at @newbedfordsymphonyorchestra with @ydinur and Cynthia Yeh, performing @avnerdormanmusic percussion concerto Eternal Rhythm, and Charles Ives Symphony No.2. Thank you and congratulations on this challenging (FUN!!) program - to the orchestra, and everyone involved in organizing this. Special thanks to Avner Dorman and Jim Sinclair for sharing their wisdom, too.

The NBSO has such a special and unique relationship with the surrounding New Bedford community, and the charming city is deeply rooted to the many many diverse peoples and cultures in its ancestry. You get this sense walking the streets surrounding the @zeiterion , and at the especially introspective @whalingmuseum . I also spent an hour on concert day talking to the folks at @izzys_restaurant_nb , who taught me all about Cape Verdean culture, history, music, food, and the country’s relationship with Portugal and the US. The Cachupa stew was truly delicious.

Thanks again, and hope to be back soon! taken in New Bedford, Massachusetts by @studioferri

nice foodz from recent days - especially happy about tonight’s ‘oops’ risotto with mushrooms, kashk (iranian whey - replacing the misplaced parmesean), East Rock foraged maitake from this past autumn, fennel scraps, and blood orange olive oil.
