It feels surreal. My debut documentary series has been released.

It all started at the beginning of 2024, when I was approached with the opportunity to document the audition day at Germany’s top music schools. It’s a day where young artists push themselves to the limit, stepping out of their comfort zones to discover if the artist’s path is truly for them.

I spent a decent amount of time developing the idea, writing, researching and filming all over Germany, creating a entire new format from scratch.

I’m fortunate to have embarked on this journey with a uniquely talented crew of creatives, navigating the chaos of the day, directing four camera teams, and trying to capture this adrenaline induced madness, where dreams can be crushed in a matter of moments.

There’s so much I’ve learned and am still processing.

Most importantly, I realized how much I’m always fascinated by individuals who, in an almost obsessive pursuit, venture into the world. And sometimes only as byproduct, they might discover who they truly are. Perhaps our project offers something like a snapshot—a brief but decisive moment in the lifelong odyssey of becoming an artist.

The most beautiful thing for me is that our protagonists were, in a way, playing their own soundtracks. It made me realize we’ve created a music documentary encompassing a variety of genres, featuring a diverse and somewhat odd orchestra of beautiful weirdos. Of dreamers who dare.

Thanks for everyone involved joining me.

I experienced so much joy on this ride. Damn!

10 years ago, our film Pallasseum – Invisible City premiered at @berlinale

It was my debut project at @filmuni Babelsberg - making it the school's first-ever first-year film selected for that section, and one of the earliest student shorts to screen at the festival overall.

My intention with the film was simply to get to know my new Schöneberg neighborhood. Back then, the local newspaper Der Tagesspiegel wrote that it felt "berlinerisch". I took it as a compliment for someone who had just arrived in the city.

Looking back, I think what the film taught me is that it's always worth staying true to your vision, no matter how unique it wants to be. Later on, it was shown nationwide on @ardmediathek. It also marked the start of deeply significant creative relationships - a huge thank you goes to our DoP Falco @falcogoes8k and editor Max @louis_lambertus.

Lodz I - Asaf Sagiv (Official Music Video)
For your GRAMMY® consideration.

Starring Sundance-winning actor @sara_klimoska

Two months since this project began its journey with both a world premiere and a nomination for Best Music Video at @hollyshorts Film Festival 2025 in Hollywood, Los Angeles - next stop @recordingacademy. This music video was born from a deeply personal place - a moving story from my dear collaborator @asafsagiv about his late mother, which became a shared tribute to both our mothers, a meditation on departures. We poured our hearts into this.

Gratitude to @asafsagiv for this humbling experience, Hollyshorts founders @iamtheodumont @danielsol22 for giving our story a stage, and to our incredible team who brought this vision to life, @falcogoes8k @anka.marr @tanjazeba @sebsound.b @lasues @tonitonithetoni, and many more.
Dedicated to the late Osnat Sagiv (1946–2017), and my mother Vesa Inacker @vesainacker.
