Lodz I - Asaf Sagiv (Official Music Video)
For your GRAMMY® consideration.

Starring Sundance-winning actor @sara_klimoska

Two months since this project began its journey with both a world premiere and a nomination for Best Music Video at @hollyshorts Film Festival 2025 in Hollywood, Los Angeles - next stop @recordingacademy. This music video was born from a deeply personal place - a moving story from my dear collaborator @asafsagiv about his late mother, which became a shared tribute to both our mothers, a meditation on departures. We poured our hearts into this.

Gratitude to @asafsagiv for this humbling experience, Hollyshorts founders @iamtheodumont @danielsol22 for giving our story a stage, and to our incredible team who brought this vision to life, @falcogoes8k @anka.marr @tanjazeba @sebsound.b @lasues @tonitonithetoni, and many more.
Dedicated to the late Osnat Sagiv (1946–2017), and my mother Vesa Inacker @vesainacker.

I had the joy and privilege of writing, directing, and producing this project for my dear friend and truly unique composer @asafsagiv.
It’s been quite a journey, and I couldn’t have asked for a better collaborator. Thank you for trusting me with your vision, Asaf.

Hey, good news: our Feature Length Documentary got funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Center @havc_hr. This is a significant milestone for me.

This project began in 2020, when I first set out to my mother’s homeland in Dalmatia, with a camera. Guided purely by instinct, I started filming stormy waterfalls raging against the depths of a cold winter. Little did I know back then that this project would grow into something so wild, challenging, imaginative, and alive.

I believe that in this world, humans, as well as all other living beings, operate through relationships. So, what have I learned so far through this special relationship, this vulnerable process to which I have committed myself for more than four years now? First and foremost, it has taught me patience. It has taught me to cultivate the attitude of a caring gardener who watches his seeds grow into wonders, slowly but steadily. It has taught me that the process is not about achieving goals; it’s about the process itself, like that of a shepherd gently and subtly guiding their herd with intentionality and trust. All these insights have been far from easy for me to realize. I felt like an archaeologist undertaking an emotional excavation in a land that feels both strange and familiar at the same time. And like with any nurturing relationship, the only thing I can do is respond to this with generosity, gratitude, and communication.

Before I put this special thing back into the soil and indulge myself back into the process, blindfolded but with an inner knowing that I can trust this process, wherever it may take me next, I want to send a heartfelt thank you to that unique ecosystem of individuals who has been guiding me through this little big Odyssey. It’s been so much fun, really. I’m super grateful that this is not over yet.

The imaginary is the motherland of the real, as novelist Marica Bodrožić @bodrozicmarica writes. Through the real and with the means of Documentary Cinema, I found myself slowly realising that perhaps I’m creating a way back to the imaginary.

So, guess where you can find me shepherding this summer?
